Riot Games announced Wild Rift South East Asia Icon Series: Preseason

And more seasons to follow!

Recently Riot games have declared League of Legends Wild Rift South East Asia Icon Series Preseason. The Wild Rift SEA Icon Series will be the first tournament produced by Riot Games Southeast Asia in partnership with regional partners. Riot Games aims to establish a connection of SEA regional players with the global MOBA scene.

Overview of the Wild Rift esports tournament

The regional tournament will be five weekends long which will include 7 locations specific tournament circuits. In this tournament various teams will be competing for the local championship trophy. After the pre-season is over the selected players or the teams will contest for the the Wild Rift South East Asia Icon Series Summer Season.

After pre-season, the tournament will be of 8 weeks where any team may join to compete to be the best in their region and go onto our pan-regional tournaments to compete to be the first regional champions. The Wild Rift Southeast Asia Icon Series: Preseason will commence on February 26th, and features three-day long weekend tournaments in the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore. The aim of the tournament is to declare the best regional team in South East Asia. Also, Riot Games will partner with different esports organisations to escalate the craze of the tournament. Chris Tran, Head of Esports for Riot Games Southeast Asia quoted,

“The Southeast Asia Icon Series is our first step to grow League of Legends: Wild Rift into a regional esport worthy of our players’ passion and skills,”
