RRQ Akira is crowned as the champion of Mobile Legends MPL LA Season 1

The top will go to the MSC 2024

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) concluded the inaugural season of an esports event in LATAM. The Mobile Legends MPL LA Season 1 has ended with RRQ Akira being the crowned champion. After winning against Entity7 by a scoreline of 4-2, the team secured its place in the upcoming MSC 2024 with a direct qualification ticket. The champion of MPL LA season 1 also left the arena with a heavy pocket. Organized by MOONTON and TikTok, the event featured $80,000 as the prize pool.

RRQ Akira was the winner of MPL LATAM in 2023 and the holder of the champion trophy in the event’s second instalment. The team is comprised of Brazilian sensations operating in the Latin America region.

RRQ Akira was unbeatable through the event, crushing the others to be the champion

The event format was set in a way that only one team from each group would directly meet at the grand final. There was no bracket system rather direct elevation to the finals made the event simple and left the teams with only one objective: to be the group champion first. RRQ Akira did it swiftly and without losing a single game.

On the other hand, the runner-up Entity7 had to cross several difficulties on the road. Claiming 9 points in total, Malvinas Gaming was standing even with the team but Entity7 crossed the barrier as they had a greater win ratio. Both the finalists then met in the grand finals.

RRQ Akira was looking strong from the beginning and quickly picked up two rounds. The runner-up though won the next, the champion took another round and the result stood at 3-1. When the equation is as simple as winning a single round will make RRQ the crowned champion, they lost another round in the 5th match. However, the team said not to wait anymore and picked up the sixth round to lift the trophy.

MPL-LA Season 1 champion bagged the prize money while the runners secured the wildcard stage of MSC 2024

As the event drew its conclusion, the top two teams went home with additional prizes apart from the monetary compensation. The champion team won the largest share of the total prize pool, that is $16,000 while the runner-up was $2,500 behind. But a direct slot in the MSC 2024 in Riyadh is the most lucrative prize of all. Entity7 is not far behind as they also secured a place in the wildcard stage of the coming event. RRQ Akira’s Gold Laner “Gustalagusta” became the MVP of the grand finals.

The event featured a few teams known by their name and appearance and regarded as one of the toughest contenders on the path for RRQ. However, Entity7 could make it to the top to meet the champion in the end. Thus, the spotlight will be on the team in the next event while the champion will also try to put focus on doing well also.
