Naruto mobile games could be getting a major comeback as TV TOKYO teases new titles for the anime’s 25th anniversary

It is coming!

Story Highlights
  • TV TOKYO teases new Naruto games planned for 2027 and beyond.
  • The new projects are tied to Naruto anime’s 25th anniversary celebrations.
  • No official game details yet, but mobile titles are expected in the lineup.

The Naruto franchise might finally be preparing for some new games. TV TOKYO Holdings has officially hinted at new game projects tied to the anime’s upcoming 25th anniversary celebrations in 2027, and Naruto’s ambitions look really promising.

The update comes from TV TOKYO Holdings’ FY2025 financial results briefing held this May 2026, where the company discussed the growing global success of the Naruto/Boruto IP, especially in gaming. During the Q&A section. TV TOKYO directly confirmed that “new games” developed with “new partners” are planned for 2027 and beyond as part of Naruto’s 25th anniversary roadmap.

TV TOKYO wants to expand Naruto beyond anime into games, events, and merchandising

When being asked about the franchise’s popularity peaking during the 25th anniversary, TV Tokyo responded: “We view the 25th anniversary as the beginning of a new stage rather than a peak. We are planning several projects tied to this milestone. New content, including animation projects and games developed with new partners, is scheduled for release in 2027 and beyond.” (translated from Japanese)

Naruto’s mobile gaming journey has been a bit mixed over the years. We have seen several releases such as NARUTO SHIPPUDEN, Bandai Namco’s Naruto x Boruto Ninja Voltage, and NARUTO: Ultimate Ninja STORM mobile adaptation, and more recently NARUTO KAGE.

But if we are being honest, none of them really became a long-term breakout mobile success globally on the level fans probably expected. For an anime, or IP as a whole, that is also considered part of anime’s legendary “Big Three” alongside One Piece and BLEACH, it is kind of disappointing not to have a big smartphone experience.

Also, noting that the financial results also mentioned the company’s Content as a Service (CaaS) strategy, and the desire to expand the IP beyond anime into games, merchandising, events, and even theme parks.

Given how Naruto is a massive IP, the interest will surely be on expanding it. We have already seen plenty of collaborations with different games, so this is already in good flow, at least when it comes to the mobile games department.

Right now, no official details about the new Naruto games have been announced. Platforms, developers, genres, and global release plans are still unknown. But given there is a mention of “games”, it won’t be one game for now, and hopefully we do eventually get more than one.
