Wild Rift Champions SEA Finals 2022: Teams, format, prize pool, and more

Eleven teams will fight for a whopping USD 200,000!

Wild Rift SEA Champions (WCS) 2022 concluded with the six crowned champions from sub-regions of Southeast Asia. Along with the champions, five other teams from the SEA stage made their way to the regional championship in the year of 2022, the Wild Rift Champions SEA Finals. From the 23rd of April, 2022 to the 8th of May, 2022, the qualified teams will face each other in the survival battle along with their eyes on the huge prize pool. Besides, the event will also determine four teams that will be promoted to the grand event of Wild Rift Esports, Wild Rift Icons Global Championship, later this year.

Wild Rift Champions SEA Finals 2022: Schedule and Format

The play-ins stage will be held, starting on the 23rd of April and ending on the following day. The next stage, the playoffs, will start on the 26th of April. The matches will be held from the 29th of April to the 1st of May, and from May 6th till 7th. The grand finals will be held on the 8th of May, 2022.

Wild Rift Champions SEA Finals will be divided into three phases. In the first stage, five teams from the Wild Rift Champions SEA and Wild Rift Oceania Championships tournaments, along with the first runner-up teams from WCS Masters, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam along with the champions of Wild Rift Oceania Championship, will face each other in a best-of-2 format, where the matches will follow a single round-robin system. The champion team will directly advance to the play-offs, whereas the second and the third-placed teams will again in a best-of-five to secure the remaining slot for the next stage.

The two qualified teams from the play-ins will join the six WCS Regional Champions. The teams are divided into two pools, each containing four teams. The sub-regional champions of WCS Masters, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam are in the first pool and the rest are in the second pool. All the participants of this stage will fight under a double-elimination format, where all matches will be played in a best-of-five, except the Lower Bracket Finals.

Wild Rift Champions SEA Finals 2022: Participating Teams

WR Champions SEA has determined 11 teams for the championship. Though the eyes will be on the playoffs stage, each team will through their level best performance to secure their spot in the top four. Because the champion team will directly join other regional toppers in the grand event, Wild Rift Icons Global Championship, that is set to be held later this year. The rest three of the top four will have to go through the play-ins stage of the event to get a slot in the primary stage.

Wild Rift Champions SEA Finals: Where to watch

All the matches will be live-streamed on the social handles of Wild Rift. Riot’s official channels along with partner broadcast channels will stream the matches starting from 14:00 GMT+8, April 23, 2022. Fans can watch the matches in English, Tagalog, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, Vietnamese and Thai. The following channels will broadcast the whole tournament.
