Brawl Stars Lumi Guide: Abilities Breakdown

Lumi’s Attack: Good Morning… Star

Her main Attack, Good Morning… Star allows you to throw both morning stars/maces towards enemies. With her third attack, you can recall these morning stars, dealing more damage to enemies on their path. She has two ammo slots, and once they are used, a single yellow slot appears, which is her third attack.

Lumi’s Super: Blast Beat

Lumi’s Super, Blast Beat, lets you slam the ground three times, causing explosions with varying area damage, with the biggest explosion dealing 1400 damage. Moreover, the third explosion also stuns enemies’ movements for 1 second, although they can still attack you.

Tips for using Lumi’s Super

  • Use it for Zone Control: You can use Lumi’s Super to control zones or main areas in modes like Gem Grab or Hot Zone since it creates three consecutive explosions, and the range is also long. You can try to use it near choke points or control areas to force enemies to reposition.
  • Launch surprise attacks: You can use Blast Beat from bushes to either launch a surprise attack or check bushes for hiding enemies. Plus, with its high speed and long range, you can likely catch enemies trying to dodge and stun their movement for a second.

Brawl Stars Lumi Guide: Gadgets and Star Power

Gadget

Hit the Lights

When you activate this Gadget, you can ignite Lumi’s morning stars on the ground and produce flames that damage nearby enemies for 3.9 seconds. Moreover, it deals 180 damage per second, and the gadget’s cooldown is 14 seconds.

Grim and Frostbitten

With Grim and Frostbitten Gadget, you can create freezing winds around Lumi’s morning stars on the ground, which creates a slippery surface for 3.9 seconds. It deals 60 damage per second, and the gadget’s cooldown is 18 seconds.

Star Powers

42% Burnt

42% Burnt Star Power enhances Lumi’s Super, with the explosions setting the area on fire for 4 seconds. Plus, the damage the fire deals to the Super’s explosion. The biggest explosion deals 280 damage per second to enemies.

Half-time

With the Half-time Star Power, you can slow down enemy Brawlers that get hit by Lumi’s recalled morning stars for 2 seconds, further enhancing its use case.

Best Game Modes for Lumi

Lumi can be a versatile Brawler, and with her Attack, Super, and fire and ice attributes, she can prove to be very strong in certain game modes. Here are her best game modes, in my opinion:

  • Hot Zone: Lumi can be a great pick in Hot Zone, thanks to her Super, which allows strong area control, and you can force your enemies out of the zones while dealing significant damage. Moreover, with her 42% Burnt Star Power, you can make Super even more effective.
  • Brawl Ball: She seems to be doing well in Brawl Ball, considering the high win rates among top players. You can keep spamming her long-ranged attack to apply pressure, and either use Grim and Frostbitten or Hit the Lights Gadgets, to dominate your enemies.
  • Gem Grab: You can also pick her in Gem Grab mode, especially with maps having a lot of bushes. You can use Half-time Star Power to slow down the enemies, or 42% Burnt to zone out enemies from the main area.
  • Heist: Lumi can be useful in Heist mode, because of her long-range Attack and Super. Moreover, you can deal a lot of damage to the safe with her morning stars, and then recall them to deal additional damage.

Best Brawler Combination with Lumi

Lumi is a powerful Damage Dealer, and her toolkit is effective across various modes; however, having a good team is always an advantage. You can pair her with Frank, as both have similar destructive Supers, and you can use your Super after Frank’s stun to deal maximum damage.

Meeple is also a good choice, with him trapping enemies, allowing you to follow up with Lumi’s Super to finish them off. Grom’s area control and long-range attacks can work well with her. Even Gene looks like a good pair, pulling enemies to Lumi’s Blast Beat range.

Best Gears for Lumi in Brawl Stars

Damage Gear

For a Damage Dealer, more damage is always better, and Damage Gear seems like the appropriate Gear for Lumi. With this, you can deal an additional 15% damage to your enemies when your HP drops below 50%.

Shield Gear

You also need to stay safe to deal a lot of damage to enemies and finish them off. For this reason, Shield Gear pairs well with Lumi, providing an extra 900 Health as a consumable shield. Moreover, this shield also regenerates in 10 seconds if you have full health.
