Monk is the newest addition to Clash Royale‘s existing group of Champions and is now available in the game with the recent October 2022 update. The card is classified as a ground unit and an event revolving around this card will come to the game 5 days later. Introducing Monk, the latest Champion card
Monk is of Champion rarity, which is also the rarest card type in the game and there are only five of its kind in the game. Like all the other Champions, the Monk also has a unique ability of his own which is usable in battles. He deals moderate damage and is decently tanky. His ability is called Pensive Protection and costs an extra one elixir to be activated and is reusable.
Pensive Protection reduces all incoming damage to the Monk by a whopping 80% and reflects all projectiles targeted at him by the enemy back to them. As for Spells, they are reflected off him to the nearest Crown Tower or the King Tower if there are no Crown Towers left. When the ability is activated, he is impervious to all knockback and the Tornado spell.

1. Monk P.E.K.K.A
Average Elixir: 3.8
This deck is primarily based on a counter-attacking style of play. P.E.K.K.A. is a great tank killer and due to her high hit points, she survives almost all pushes and can spearhead the counter push as well. Supported by the Witch or the Baby Dragon, it makes for a rather deadly combo.
The Goblin Barrel is also a great damage dealer and the Fire Spirit, Electro Wizard, and Zap can take care of swarms. The Monk can also lead charges and turn the tables of the battle using his ability.
2. Monk Hog-DP
Average Elixir: 3.6
This deck is great when it comes to winning by dealing with continuous chip damage. The Hog Rider as always is a threat to the opponent and is therefore a great choice for the players.
The Monk can protect the other troops by acting as a sponge for all damage while the Firecracker and Dart Goblin deals large amounts of damage. The Cannon and the Lightning spell are also great at defense.
3. Monk Three Musketeers
Average Elixir: 4.1
This is a rather unusual deck but can surely pay off if played properly. The chief drawback of the deck is that the Three Musketeers are highly susceptible to being wiped out by any big spell. The Musketeers can seek shelter behind the Monk as he leads the offensive.
The Bomber can wipe swarm troops while the Mini P.E.K.K.A. is a great tank killer and a mini tank himself. The Skeleton Barrel could also catch the opponent off guard when they are low on elixir.
4. Monk Exe – Hog
Average Elixir: 3.4
The Hog Rider accompanied by the Executioner is the main win condition of this deck. The Dart Goblin is also great to deploy when the enemy is low on Elixir due to the huge amounts of damage he deals when compared to his Elixir cost.
The Dart Goblin is even dangerous when paired with the Monk as he simply absorbs all damage. The Bomber, Archers, and Fireball meanwhile deal with the defense, against both swarms and tanks.
5. Monk Ebarbs
Average Elixir: 4.0
This one is probably the strongest deck of the lot. The Monk can be a huge threat when paired with the Elite Barbarians due to his massively tanky nature. The Magic Archer could take care of swarm troops along with the Royal Ghost as they deal splash damage.
The Mother Witch as always is a menace when paired with a troop that deals high damage. The Battle Ram combined with the Phoenix could also be very deadly.
