The brand new Goblin Drill card is now available for Clash Royale players who have participated in the Draft Challenge and racked up enough wins to get early access to the card before it gets its general release. A 4 elixir medium-cost card, will be a spawn type card, that is, it’ll be a building in the shape of a drill that will spawn regular goblins every few seconds. Once it is destroyed, it will spawn 4 additional goblins which can be used as a backup for other troops in the arena. As always happens when a new card arrives, players try to put together the best deck to fully utilize the new card. So we will be offering our choice of the top 3 decks that could be used with the Goblin Drill in Clash Royale.
Best Goblin Drill decks in Clash Royale
1. Rascal Drill Prince Bat
Average Elixir Cost: 3.6
Attack
One can begin the game by placing a central Furnace which will serve as a defensive building and a distraction for heavy troops. It can be followed by Rascals or a Prince with the Goblin Gang for support. The Goblin Drill can be deployed to provide constant backup to the troops or to do chip damage to the crown towers
Defense
Defence can be handled by the Furnace and Goblin Drill which can spawn units to distract and chip opposing troops. Bats and the Goblin Gang can be used to overwhelm the enemy if they are using slow and heavy troops. The Poison Spell can take care of swarm troops if placed properly.
Weakness
Though a balanced deck, it can be weak against decks centred around aerial troops. Even though Bats and Spear Goblins can damage aerial troops, they do chip damage and can be easily wiped out owing to their meagre HP. And the Poison Spell can be dodged as well by fast-moving units such as Minions.
2. Mother Witch Mini P.E.K.K.A. Valkyrie Canon
Average Elixir Cost: 3.8
Attack
The attack can be initiated by deploying the Valkyrie upfront as she deals area damage besides also being a mini tank. The Mini P.E.K.K.A. can be deployed behind her so that the Mini P.E.K.K.A. can deal the heavy damage while the Valkyrie clears the path. Also, the cannon can be deployed as it can damage the towers and also act as a defensive building after it is broken down.
Defense
The Goblin Drill can be placed as a distraction for aggressive enemy troops while the Goblins themselves deal chip damage. The Mega Knight and Magic Archer can easily manhandle aerial troops if deployed clinically. The Mother Witch on the other hand can always clutch an enemy attack with the support of other troops and turn it into a counter-attack through the hogs she makes from her curse. The cannon makes for a great defence as well.
Weakness
A deck with no particular weakness makes for a great all-round deck. But spells like the Fireball can make the deck a bit vulnerable as there’s no specific tank to absorb all the damage. Also, elixir inefficiency can be an issue as always but can be avoided with focus.
3. Goblin Drill Golem Double Dragon
Average Elixir Cost: 4.3
Attack
The attack can be started like any other traditional Golem deck by deploying the Golem as the tank with other troops following behind. The Bomber can be deployed directly after to clear troops deployed to counter the Golem. The Lumberjack can also do quick work and its bonus Rage spell can give the Golem and other troops the needed extra boost to take down an enemy tower. The Goblin Drill can also deal chip damage and provide adequate support.
Defense
Enemy swarm troops or melee troops can be dealt with by using a Bomber and using Tornado to make the opposition units bunch up, dealing heavy damage. The E-dragon can continuously thwart heavy troops with its high damage zap ability. Coupled with the Baby Dragon/Dark Prince, it makes a force to be reckoned with. If left unchecked, it can also go as far as the enemy towers and deal considerable damage.
Weakness
The strongest deck on the list, it can make short work of any deck if used the correct way. Its major drawback is the deficit of Elixir after deploying a Golem charge, which leaves openings for a swift counterattack that can destroy your tower before the Golem Charge can reach the opposite side. If this shortcoming can be dealt with, the deck makes for a fearsome force to be reckoned with.
These are just suggestive decks which offers players a basic deck to work on and give the player the independence to make changes according to their playing style. So buckle up, get on the arena, and keep clashing!
