Cookie Run: Kingdom released Black Pearl Cookie, which is a Legendary Ambush Cookie, back when Version 3.6’s “Legend of the Duskgloom Sea” came out. Black Pearl Cookie had a long-standing ground in the META initially, but as updates and new Cookies were released, she fell off a little.
The new Version 4.9 “A Mermaid’s Tale Part 1” has released a Soul Jam that can be equipped onto Black Pearl Cookie, buffing her kit and overall damage numbers. This guide will help you with how to build the Black Pearl Cookie, how to obtain her, and the ways to level her up.
How to Obtain Black Pearl Cookie in Cookie Run: Kingdom
Black Pearl Cookie is a Legendary Cookie and hence can be obtained through the Gacha. Legendary and the Cookies above the Rarity get their Limited Rate Up Banner when they are initially released, where players need to obtain exclusive wish currency to pull for them. There is a pity system in these Rate-Up Banners hence players can get the guaranteed Cookie in the 250th pull. There are many ways to obtain her Soulstones such as,
- Guild Medal Shop: Available exclusively through joining a Guild. Players have to participate in Guild Battles to obtain the Heroic Medal currency to exchange with the Soulstones. Players can get 1 Soulstones for each purchase. The Shop will eventually Reset lasting 3 days each rotation.
- Rainbow Shell Gallery: Located inside Touc’s Trade Harbor after you upgrade it. The soulstones can only be exchanged with the Rainbow Pearls currency which can be obtained by shipping various goods through the Ship Harbor. You can obtain 1 Soulstone Cookie. The Shop resets every 2 Days so players have to keep a lookout on which Soulstone Cookies comes out every rotation.

It will be wise to avoid these treacherous waves – for their ruler can toss and wreck even the mightiest of ships as if they were mere toys. It is said that kind-hearted mermaids once served as the ocean’s caregivers and protectors, but here in the Duskgloom Sea, you will find only dark grudges.
Nobody knows the reason behind Black Pearl Cookie’s century-old wrath, but with her on the underwater throne of wreckage, the Duskgloom Sea has gained its notoriety as the abyssal graveyard. She does not seek affection nor understanding, but then what is it that Black Pearl Cookie is looking for? What can pacify her cries of desperation?

Crystal Jams act similarly to Magic Candies where they can be equipped to Cookies in order to buff their kit significantly. Crystals Jams are exclusive to Cookies whose Rarities are above Epic such as Legendary, Super Epic, Ancient, Dragon, etc.

Best Toppings for Black Pearl Cookie in Cookie Run: Kingdom
Black Pearl Cookie has an assortment of Toppings to choose from depending on what you prefer in her build. Additionally, after the Version 4.9 update, all Cookies or non-cookies that are released and have ties with the ‘A Mermaid’s Tale‘ storyline will be able to use the Sea Salt Resonant Toppings. These Toppings work just like the Moonkissed Toppings where the damage multipliers are boosted up from regular Toppings.
Black Pearl Cookie can use a total of 3 different Toppings, although it is not necessary to have a full set of them all. The most recommended Topping to equip is the Swift Chocolate Toppings in order to reduce Black Pearl Cookie’s 15-second long cooldown and enable her Skill to be used more frequently in battles.
The second option would be to equip Searing Raspberry Toppings. The go-to is to equip a mixture of SR Toppings and SC Toppings to gain both ATK and reduce Cooldown. Black Pearl Cookie is an Ambush Cookie and hence inflicts high amounts of DMG esp with the Crystal Jam buff she received as of now. Stacking her with ATK is viable.
Lastly, players can also equip Solid Almond Toppings coupled with the other Toppings as well. SA Toppings are mostly to help with her DMG resistance in order to be on the field in the battle longer. This is especially viable to use when you play Black Pearl Cookie in Kingdom Arenas for PvP battles.

Final Thoughts
Black Pearl received a significant buff due to the Crystal Jam that has been released in this update. Her placement in the META shot up high and with her busted kit and type, it seems like she may very well stay in this position for a prolonged time just like Stardust, Moonlight, etc. Of course, her Crystal Jam will be difficult to max out to reach her full potential but eventually, she will be used more frequently in Arenas.
