FIFA Mobile 22 Group Stage Challengers Event Flow
Main
In the Main Tab, you will play a series of two Skill Games and one Match Daily to earn GSC Points and Tokens every day. Start off by claiming your daily rewards and play daily Skill Games and a Match to earn GSC Points and Tokens.
There are weekly milestones, where completing a total of 9 Skill Games and AI Matches will reward you with a total of 50 Shards each of the UCL, UEL, and UECL. The milestones are easy to obtain and with the skill games having infinite retries you won’t want to skip the free Shards. Complete weekly Milestones to earn Shards.
Group Stage
In the Group Stage tab, you will be facing all the teams from the three elite European Competitions. Therefore needless to say each competition, namely the UCL, UEL, and the UECL will have its own tabs. These tabs include a weekly tournament of 12 weekly AI matches that simulates the entire event.
In the first week of Group Stage Challengers, two groups will be available per League with two new groups unlocking weekly. And once you choose a group, it locks the other ones and unlocks 12 AI matches that you can play for that one group. On playing four complete sets of Group Stage matches, you can unlock the 99 OVR Enhanced Base Icon CM Ruud Gullit for free!
Lock in one group per League for the week and play 12 PvE Matches to earn GSC Points and Shards. The matches are all very basic, easy and straightforward and the competition isn’t really hard at all. You won’t want to miss out on the Shards so do complete to pick and complete them weekly. Remember 12 matches per week from the three leagues takes it to 36 PvE Matches weekly.
GSC Rewards
Moving to the rewards, this is a little different than we have seen recently. Each week two new groups are going to unlock, but fear not the existing group or tab is not going away. Now again, it’s similar to Team of the Season (TOTS) and Team of the Year (TOTY), so we can only check and judge the best possible rewards towards the end of the event.
Other than that, it’s still just a path of rewards you run down. Claim UCL, UEL, and UECL Players in the Rewards chapter! Now if you are looking at the players, to earn the players, you will be using the League-specific Shards that you earn from Challenge Mode and the Milestones.
Use your GSC Points to progress through the path, claim rewards, and unlock the Shard nodes. Use your Shards to claim UCL, UEL, and UECL Players.
GSC Offers
Use your hard-earned GSC Tokens and use them in the GSC Offers. Throughout the event, you can earn GSC Tokens. These Tokens can be used in the GSC Offers to claim Players and rewards. You can use them in any of the three European Leagues to claim the rewards best suited for you. These Offers are a little different than we have seen in past events.
UCL Player Box
This is the exact same Player Box that we have seen in events of the past where you are guaranteed a player on every 10 turns with the claimed player being replaced with Coins or Boosts and the progress bar getting reset every time a player is claimed.
Use your GSC Tokens here to claim UEFA Champions League Players and rewards! When you have claimed a UCL Player, then he will be replaced by other rewards. Claim the Node 10 times and your next claim will be a guaranteed UCL Player. The Players in the UCL Player Box refresh weekly.
UEL Offer
In the Europea League Offer, there are eight choices and you can open one per week containing rewards from the right. This is slightly different than what we have seen in past events. Scroll to the right in the UEL Offer to find a set of possible rewards.
Use your GSC Tokens on the offers to claim one of the possible rewards. Each reward can only be claimed once. The possible rewards in the UEL Offer refresh weekly.
UECL Offer
Now the Conference League Offer is entirely different. There are standard 250 GSC Tokens offers, where you can earn in-game resources along with Conference League Players. Additionally, this is the only offer path that has Milestone rewards including Coins, Skill Boosts, Training Transfer Items, and of course GSC Points.
In the UECL Offer, you can use your GSC Tokens to claim rewards. Using your GSC Tokens on the offer also unlocks the Milestones that contain even more rewards, including GSC Points! Claiming the GSC Points unlocks the 90+ OVR UECL Player offer. The possible rewards in the UECL Offer refreshes weekly.
Star Pass
Obviously, there are Passes as well, Free Passes and Paid Passes. The big pass is the Star Pass which is loaded with a ton of rewards. Complete Quests throughout the event to earn Star Pass progress, which includes rewards like GSC Points, GSC Tokens, Training Transfer Items, Skill Boosts, and new Stadiums.
Play Division Rivals Matches and complete daily/weekly Quests to progress. This Star Pass is massive lasting 42 days and looks like this time it’s worth the money. There are Points and Tokens both on the pay side and the free side with some of the premium players being only exclusive to the paid version of the pass. With what rewards it gives out, it can be a bargain, as yes a 105 OVR Event Icon is up for grabs.
So don’t forget your daily quests to progress through the Star Pass! Earning Star Pass Credits will unlock more rewards along the Star Pass path. There are two tiers to the Star Pass: free and premium. You can also use FIFA Points to move faster through Star Pass levels and collect rewards faster.
In addition to the Star Pass, there is a Challenger Pass that lasts for three weeks. The Challenger Pass contains Rewards to help you on your journey through the event, such as GSC Points, GSC Tokens, and Shards. Group Stage Challengers has its own pass called Challenger Pass where you can claim great rewards like GSC Points, GSC Tokens, and Shards. Unlock new levels by completing Daily and Weekly Quests.
These passes will therefore reset twice throughout the event and the Paid Pass requires 1500 FIFA Points. You gain progress for the Challenger Pass by completing the Daily Quests and claiming the Challenger Credits. Do remember, that the Challenger Pass will be available for the first 3 weeks of the Group Stage Challengers event. A new Pass will be added for the final 3 weeks.
Challenge Mode
Now, the last thing that we have is the Challenge Mode. Yes, Challenge Mode is back in the Group Stage Challengers! There is no midweek currently and you need to play through the gauntlet of 5 H2H Matches from Friday to Monday to earn a maximum of 190 League-Specific Shards from each league.
There are additional lineup requirements as well with you needing to be having players from the Champions, Europa, and Europa Conference League. Play up to five H2H Matches per League from Friday to Monday to claim League Shards. Shards are used to claim Players in the Rewards Chapter, so be sure to bring your A-game.
Group Stage Challengers Exchanges
There are Exchanges in the event as well. During the event we will have a variety of Exchanges available, let’s continue to see what’s on offer! Complete Exchanges that require 90+ OVR Group Stage Challengers Players to claim additional GSC Points, GSC Tokens, and Shards. There are a lot of exchanges happening and you will want to do them all to get a total of 1400 GSC Points and 200 GSC Tokens weekly.

Running the Math for F2P Players
As per our calculations, the following sums up the chances for F2P Players.
Resource Management
GSC Points | GSC Tokens | |
Main Chapter | 21000 | 12600 |
Group Stage Matches | 19800 | 3600 |
Star Pass | 9200 | 305 |
Challenger Pass | 3600 | 150 |
Exchanges | 8400 | 1200 |
UECL Offers | 21000 | |
Weekly Quests | 1800 | |
Daily Ads | 4200 | |
Rewards Chapter | 1800 | |
Premium Star Pass | 23000 | 1050 |
Premium Challenger Pass | 4000 | 350 |
Total | 83000~110000 | 25655~27055 |
Your GSC Points can vary at the end of the day based on the GSC offers you choose from between UCL, UEL, and UECL and how you go with the exchanges. Since the Challenge Mode doesn’t reward you with GSC Points and Offers, so they won’t affect your grand total.
You can get at least a minimum of 83000 GSC Points and 25655 GSC Tokens from the event.
Going for the Players from the Reward Path, you will need to depend on the League-Specific Shards and not the Points and Offers. Surprisingly the Shards are not evenly distributed among the three leagues.
UCL Shards | UEL Shards | UECL Shards | |
Main Chapter Shard Milestone | 300 | 300 | 300 |
Group Stage Matches | 720 | 720 | 720 |
Star Pass | 155 | 195 | 200 |
Challenger Pass | 50 | 75 | 50 |
Exchanges | 180 | 240 | 600 |
Challenge Mode (max) | 1140 | 1140 | 1140 |
Premium Star Pass | 450 | 775 | 300 |
Premium Challenger Pass | 250 | 225 | 150 |
Total | 1225~3245 | 1290~3670 | 1270~3460 |
Once again, your Shards solely depend on how far you can progress on the Challenge Mode with your team and whether you choose to proceed with the Exchanges or not. The Challenge Mode rewards you with 190 League-Specific Shards for each of the three leagues every week. But it’s clearly not possible to win the gauntlet for all three every single week and match the 1140 tally for the best-case scenario.
It’s not possible unless, of course, you are cheating or a bot. The Exchanges on the other hand can get fairly expensive at times but it’s not at all required to complete each and every week to get the highest possible rewards.
You can get a minimum of 1225 UCL Shards, 1290 UEL Shards, and 1270 UECL Shards free-to-play if you totally ignore the Challenge Mode and the Exchanges
Additionally, note that since the Challenger Pass will only be applicable for the first three weeks of the event and hence a lot of our calculations are based on the first three weeks of the event and speculations as we don’t know what will replace the Challenger Pass and if it will be an exact replica of the current Pass.
We usually never suggest buying the Star Pass but if you were able to spend your $10 on the game even once, this is the time when it is definitely worth it considering if you are going for those GSC Points and Tokens. The Pass does appear to be worth it and will make the difference between what you can claim and what you can’t.

GSC Rewards Players
Player OVR | Total GSC Points Required | Total Shards Required | Gems Required |
---|---|---|---|
90+ OVR UECL Player | 9500 | 100 UECL Shards | |
94 OVR UEL Player | 9500 | 200 UEL Shards | |
97 OVR UCL Player | 9500 | 300 UCL Shards | |
90+ OVR UECL Player | 29000 | 100 UECL Shards | |
101 OVR UEL Player | 29000 | 800 UEL Shards | |
103 OVR UCL Player | 29000 | 1100 UCL Shards | |
107 OVR Prime Icon RM Goerge Best | 196000 | 216500 | |
104 OVR Event Icon GK Edwin van der Sar | 22200 GSC Tokens | ||
107 OVR Prime Icon CB Fernando Hierro | 36000 GSC Tokens | 327750 |
From the table above you can clearly see you can go down straight down the Reward path and easily grab at least one of the 103 OVR UCL Players from any of the groups even if you entirely ignore the Challenge Mode and the Exchanges. If you prioritize either of the Challenge Mode and Exchanges and go all in throughout the event then you will have enough points to go and grab a second 103 OVR UCL Player. Keeping everything in mind, here is our strategy on how to maximize your gains.
Play through the event, just remember to log in and play through each and everything. Play all possible Skill games, Matches, and Quests. Try to maximize your points from the Challenge mode as many times as you can and remember to complete the Shard milestone every three days.
Maximizing without the Challenge Mode and Exchanges
If you decide to totally forgo the extra Shards that you can obtain from both the Challenge Mode and Exchanges and rely on the Skill Games and the Group Stage matches, you can obtain:
- 1x 103 OVR UCL Player
- 2x 101 OVR UEL Players
- 1x 97 OVR UCL Player
- 6x 90 OVR UECL Players
Either of the 103 OVR UCL Players from a single group is available for free-to-play without the Challenge Mode and Exchanges
Maximizing with the Challenge Mode but without the Exchanges
If you decide to totally forgo the extra Shards from Exchanges, but do compete for the Challenge Mode regularly every week and rely on the Skill Games and the Group Stage matches, you can obtain:
- 2x 103 OVR UCL Players
- 3x 101 OVR UEL Players
- 1x 97 OVR UCL Player
- 1x 94 OVR UEL Player
- 12x 90 OVR UECL Players
This might just be the best way to maximize your gains from the event without going for the Star Pass, but devoting your time and efforts to the Challenge Mode. You can claim both the 103 OVR UCL Players, both the 101 OVR UEL Players, one 97 OVR UCL Player, and one 94 OVR UEL Player from one of the groups.
Both the 103 OVR UCL Players from a single group are available for free-to-play with the Challenge Mode but without the Exchanges
Then you may proceed to the next group and claim your other 101 OVR UEL Player. You can claim 5x 90+ OVR UECL Players from both groups and more from a third group given your balance of additional UECL Shards.
Maximizing with the Star Pass
Additionally, if you decide to spend real cash and go behind the Star Pass, it will give you a few additional resources to add some extra rewards and a handful of resources including:
- 2x 103 OVR UCL Players
- 4x 101 OVR UEL Players
- 2x 97 OVR UCL Players
- 1x 94 OVR UEL Player
- 15x 90 OVR UECL Players
Therefore if you decide to buy the Star Pass, you can claim as usual both the 103 OVR UCL Players, both the 97 OVR UCL Players, and one 94 OVR UEL Player from one of the groups. Additionally, you can claim four 101 OVR UEL Players, increasing the count from two.
Besides the 103 OVR UCL Players from a single group, four 101 OVR UEL Players from two different groups, are available with the Star Pass
So now you can claim both the UEL Players from two different groups. As usual. you can spread out your count of UECL Players across the groups.
Maximizing with the Star Pass and one Challenger Pass
If you decide to invest your FIFA Points in buying one Challenger Pass besides buying the Star Pass in the first place, you will have enough UCL Shards to get a third UCL Player. It is entirely dependent on you if you decide to invest and go on this route. Nevertheless, by doing this you will gain:
- 3x 103 OVR UCL Player
- 4x 101 OVR UEL Players
- 2x 94 OVR UEL Player
- 18x 90 OVR UECL Players
Therefore if you decide to buy the Challenger Pass on top of the Star Pass, you can claim three different 103 OVR UCL Players, claiming the third UCL Player from a different group. Nevertheless, you can claim the four different 101 OVR UEL Players to buy from two different groups.
Both the 103 OVR UCL Players from a single group and a third 103 OVR UCL Player from a different group are available with both the Star and Challenger Passes
You can invest your additional Shards for two 94 OVR UEL Players from a single group and UECL Players from various different groups.
Please remember we are not encouraging anyone to spend their hard-earned cash on the game and buy the Star Pass. It is completely one’s choice whether they want to spend on the game or not. But still, if you were saving to buy the Star Pass for once, this is the time.
This is seriously the one time, buying and completing the Star Pass can give you an additional boost that might be worth it. The Star Pass also rewards you with 105 OVR Event Icons CAM Gheorghe Hagi. Additionally, the Star Pass gives out a whopping 1775 FIFA Points this time thus rewarding you enough to buy at least one of the Challenger Passes, ie the second one easily for the extra Shards, GSC Points, and Tokens.
GSC Tokens and Offers
UCL Player Box
The Player Box requires you to invest 1000 GSC Tokens on each spin. Additionally, you are guaranteed a player on the first spin of each week and on your next twelfth one as the bar resets the count once you claim a player. Spending 1000 Tokens for a shot at the 92-104 OVR UCL Players might be just worth it every week as you are basically guaranteed a 92 OVR Player every time you spin after the weekly reset.
UEL Offer
The UEL Offer resets weekly and you don’t know what you might end up with. The odds of landing a player are different here with you taking a maximum of 3200 GSC Tokens worst-case to land a UEL Player each week. Best advice, skip this offer if you are not extremely into the Europa League.
UECL Offer
On the other hand, the UECL Offers are quite attractive and different. You do get Training Transfer Items on spending 500 GSC Tokens here and Skill Boosts on spending 1000 GSC Tokens. This might be one of the smartest ways to go for spending the GSC Tokens from 500 to at most 1000 tokens per week. Additionally, if you want to go all in, you can spend 2000 GSC Tokens to get an extra amount of 3500 GSC Points weekly.
104 OVR Event Icon GK Edwin van der Sar is available for free-to-play from the Milestones
We will be getting a grand total of at least 25655 GSC Tokens from the event and with the 104 OVR Event Icon GK Edwin van der Sar requiring only 22200 GSC Tokens spent over the course of the event, you will be able to claim him easily from the event. Everyone will be able to claim him as long as they play throughout the event
