In the previous seasons, Loot Islands used to appear halfway through the match but since Chapter 5 Season 1 of Fortnite, they have taken even longer than before to appear. It is a floating island that starts to appear on the map before the fourth Storm Circle and fully appears after the fourth Storm Circle is over.
This means that you’ll need to survive till the very end of the game if you want to get on a Loot Island in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1. Once the island has appeared on the map, its location will be marked on your map with a marker. They contain great loot which is why it might be pretty useful to go there at the last phase of the match. But you should also remember that as they have a lot of good loot, other players might also be heading to it so you should always be ready to put up a fight.

The Loot Islands float in the air pretty high from the normal surface in Chapter 5 Season 1. To get on top of it, you’ll need to get the help of zip lines attached all around it or even the rifts that start appearing on the ground near it. The floating island normally looks like a small island which can be found in the middle of Loot Lake.
But currently, it looks like Crackshot’s Cabin and this change has been made because of Winterfest 2023 and will most likely stay that way for the current season. The island is also the only Capture Point for this season which you’ll have to claim and only after that you’ll be able to claim all the amazing loot which comes as a part of the island.
