Genshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG Guide: Best strategy decks to use in-game

Listing the best decks in the TCG mode!

Genius Invokation TCG is a turn-based game that came out as a permanent feature in the latest Version 3.3 update of Genshin Impact. Each TCG Duel consists of 4 phases, preparation, round, victory, and evaluation. In each round, the game will proceed as follows, Roll Phase = Action Phase with Fast Action = End Phase. Players need to strategize and evaluate their own cards and the enemy’s cards, in order to win victoriously. Players should play with other characters, NPCs, and playable characters and win the battles. Players will be able to obtain multiple character cards to add to the deck and gain coins to buy action cards. In this guide, we will be discussing the 5 best decks to use in the Genius Invokation TCG mode of Genshin Impact, which has been commonly used by most players.

Top 5 strategy decks to use in Genshin Impact TCG mode

1. Yoimiya Vaporize Deck

  • For this deck, players would need to put Xingqiu as their active character first. The ultimate objection for this roster is to enable Xingqiu to use his abilities, either his Normal Attacks or Elemental Skills, enough, until his Elemental Burst is charged up with Energy and ready to be used.
  • After using Xingqiu’s Elemental Burst, players must switch to Yoimiya as their active character. They must note that Xingqiu’s Elemental Burst does not deplete until their active character uses their normal attacks in 3 turns. When swapping to Yoimiya, players must use their Elemental Skill to increase their Normal Attack damage by +1 and their Physical Damage will be converted to Pyro DMG. Her Normal attacks can be affected by the enemy with Pyro and have Xingqiu’s Rainswords do Vaporize DMG.
  • The next objective of this team is to use Yoimiya’s Elemental burst at the start of a round. Her burst lasts for 2 rounds. After using her Burst, players must use some useful Action cards in the meantime. At this point, players will be switching Yoimiya with the Catalyst user. The last character card should be a caster/catalyst user, where their normal attack deal elemental damage and hence can react with Yoimiya’s pyro damage and cause Vaporize. In the current TCG character list, Mona and Barbara are eligible to fill in the last slot.

2. Ayaka Perma-freeze Deck

Character Cards

Action Cards

  • Katheryne, Paimon
  • Jade Chamber

  • In this deck roster, the first active character that will be used in battle is Xingqiu. The first main goal is to quickly charge up Xingqiu’s Elemental Burst to use. Each character card has a certain Energy charge to enable their Elemental Burst. Xingqiu needs 2 Energy, so use his Normal attacks and Elemental Skill. Afterward, activate Xingqiu’s Elemental Burst, his Rainswords will now deal damage with any Active Character’s Normal Attack and apply Hydro to the enemy cards.
  • Switch to Ayaka as the Active Character now and use her Normal Attacks. Ayaka’s Passive Talent enables her to infuse her Normal Attack as Cryo DMG. Using her Normal attacks will enable Xingqiu’s Rainswords to deal damage, causing the Active character on the enemy team to instantly freeze. Xingqiu’s Elemental Burst lasts up to 3 uses which help perma-freezing the Enemy and hence makes them immobilized and unable to deal damage. Finish off the enemy cards with this technique and deal damage until they unfreeze.
  • Switch to Chongyun to act as a backup to freeze enemies with his Elemental Skill and infuse the Character Card’s Normal Attacks with Cryo. He also tanks the ongoing damage from the unfrozen enemy.

3. Keqing Quicken Deck

Character Cards

  • Stellar Predator
  • Floral Sidewinder
  • When the Crane Returned
  • Calx’s Arts

  • A Quicken quick-swap team consisting of Keqing, Fischl, and Collei. Your Active Character must be Collei in the starting Round in order to start the rotation. Use Collei’s Normal Attacks and Elemental Skills to charge up her Elemental Burst. Collei only needs 2 Energy to use her Elemental Burst ‘Trump-Card Kitty’. When the Burst is up, activate it and switch up to Keqing. Collei’s Elemental Burst lasts up to 2 turns, giving Keqing time to unleash her abilities.
  • As the enemy Card has been applied with Dendro, use Keqing’s Elemental Skill to do Electro damage and deal Quicken reactions. Keqing is one of the best Character cards to use in this roster since her Elemental Skill can create an Action Card on the spot. Additionally, Keqing can do AoE Damage to all the Character cards of the enemy team due to her Elemental Burst.
  • Afterward, quickly swap to Fischl as your Active Character and use her Elemental Skill. She will Summon Oz who will deal consistent Electro DMG for 2 turns and react with Dendro to deal Aggravate Reactions. Keqing and Fischl both work in the same role of applying Electro due to Collei’s Elemental Skills and Bursts to deal with Quicken DMG.

4. Yoimiya Melt Deck

Character Cards

Action Cards

  • Minty Meat Rolls
  • Timmie, Liben
  • I Haven’t Lost Yet!

  • This is a super nuke deck where the main purpose is to set up a 3-turn kill, where each turn deal 10 damage to every active character, finishing the enemy team off with only three turns of a round. Firstly place Yoimiya as the active character at the start of the duel. One must use Yoimiya’s Normal attacks and Elemental Skills till her Elemental Burst is charged up and ready to be activated. Yoimiya’s Elemental Burst deals 3 Pyro DMG and activates a skill where the active character who isn’t Yoimiya deal Pyro DMG, when they use their Elemental Skill.
  • After enabling the Elemental Burst, players must switch up to Ayaka as their active character. Ayaka has a Passive talent, where their active character has their Normal attacks infused with Cryo, once they are switched. Players must use Ayaka’s Normal attacks and deal +5 DMG to the enemy’s action character (+2 Cryo DMG, +1 Pyro DMG from Yoimiya, +2 Melt DMG).
  • The Fatui Pyro Agent is usually there for the Elemental Resonance and to tank any onslaught of attacks from the enemy’s Active character card.  This Deck is reliant on having a good Action Card stack where you will get the best damage outcome through food such as Minty Meat Rolls and Artifacts such as Gambler’s Earrings.

5. Diluc Overload Deck

Action cards

  • Crossfire
  • Flowing Flame
  • Starsigns
  • Elemental Resonance: Woven Flames
  • Liben
  • Ellie
  • Weapon equipment
  • Artifact equipment

  • This Overload roster is a very double-edged sword team. If the opponent is hit by an Overload reaction, they will automatically switch to the right card as the Active character. As they switch, if they have the appropriate Elemental Dices, the enemy will attack their active character with huge attacks.
  • They must first use Xiangling as the active character to start the round. Her Elemental Skill will summon Gouba who will inflict Pyro DMG on the active character and apply Pyro. Players can then switch to Razor to deal Electro DMG to the card and inflict Overload reactions. The good thing about this team is there is a constant Overload reaction inflicted on the enemy’s active cards.
  • Razor-applying Electro can enable Diluc to be swapped and used. He can then inflict Pyro damage with his Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst. Xiangling and Diluc both being Pyro can activate the Duel Resonance Action Cards to boost more Pyro DMG. Razor can be swapped with Fischl for another Electro Character Card that can inflict Electro DMG consistently.

Genshin Impact Genius Invokation TCG Strategy Decks: Tips and Tricks

  • When building the deck, one must choose two Character cards with the same element in order to have access and activate Action Cards such as Elemental Resonance: Fervent Flames, Elemental Resonance: Soothing Water, Elemental Resonance: High Voltage, etc.
  • Additionally putting the same Elemental character cards in the deck enables some upgraded Artifact Sets which can boost up your Card’s damage such as Heart of Depth.
  • Action Cards such as Wagner and Timaeus are very efficient with the resources such as saving Elemental dice by using some Action Cards with fewer Elemental Dice than they originally are. When players use these Action cards early in the game, they can pretty much equip the Weapon and Artifact Action Cards for free.
  • Weapons Action Cards are helpful with not only adding damage to the attacks but also providing added buffs and perks. For example, the sacrificial weapon series gives players an Elemental Die when they attack. Similarly, one must note that 5-star weapons have a much stronger effect and buff attacks more.
  • One must keep note of the type of Elemental Die one will need when using the Action Cards. Very few Action cards are free of Dices, while other has certain requirements. Player must check the top left corner of the Action Cards to notice the required Dices. The number indicates the amount of Die/Dices you will need and the color indicates what type of Elemental Die/Dices is required.
    • Black: Any Element
    • White: Same Element
    • Purple: Only Electro
    • Cyan: Only Anemo
    • Green: Only Dendro
    • Yellow: Only Geo
    • Dark Blue: Only Hydro
    • Red: Only Pyro
    • Light Blue: Only Cryo
