- Find out which characters are worth pulling right now in Honkai: Star Rail.
Honkai: Star Rail is introducing the Phase 1 banners, featuring Yao Guang, Hysilens, Evernight, and Black Swan in Version 4.0. Once again, HoYoverse released a banner featuring one newly released character and three re-run characters.
I will assess each character’s strengths and qualities in the future meta of the game and advise you on which character to pull from the 4 playable characters. Phase 1 Banners will go live on the 13th of February, 2026, and will last until the 6th of March, 2026.
Who should you pull for in Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.0 Phase 1 Banners
Each character brings unique strengths to the table, but some offer more immediate and long-term value than others. Here’s a breakdown to help you decide.
1. Yao Guang
Yao Guang is a 5-Star Physical Elation support character. Her kit revolves around deploying a Zone that amplifies allies’ Elation stats, triggering Aha Instants for ultimate damage windows, and providing All-Type RES Penetration. With her ultimate hands, Aha, an extra action, and gives the team All-Type RES penetration.

She deploys a zone with her skill for 3 turns that increases all allies’ Elation damage by 20% based on her own Elation stat. Furthermore, she can increase Elation damage by 20% for a random opponent with her passive. If you are planning to pull Yao Guang, read our Yao Guang Pre-Farm Guide.
She is over powered buffer for Elation focused team. At this moment, she can buff Sparxie teams. But with the upcoming Elation character releases, her pull value will increase gradually.
2. Evernight
Evernight is a 5-Star Ice Remembrance unit. Her kit revolves around summoning and sacrificing her memosprite, Evey, to build up and unleash devastating Memoria-fueled attacks. She provides unique teamwide buffs, including massive CRIT DMG to all memosprites and a 30% vulnerability debuff, during her Darkest Riddle state, letting her amplify both her own damage and that of her allies.

Evernight heavily relied on memosprite-focused teammates. She make best synergies with Castorice and Hyacine. Castorice thrives off her constant HP draining, while Hyacine’s healing and Newbud charging explode in value alongside Evernight’s kit.
Without memosprite-focused teammates and a good healer, she and her whole team’s damage drops significantly.
3. Hysilens
Hysilens is a 5-Star Physical Nihility unit whose entire kit revolves around stacking and amplifying damage over time effects (DoT). She inflicts Enthrallment, a debuff that increases enemies’ DoT vulnerability and unlocks her passive scaling, letting her stack up huge amounts of bonus damage as the fight goes on.

Hysilens can’t detonate those DoTs herself. Her damage scaling is designed around someone else constantly triggering them. That’s why she relies heavily on Kafka. Kafka’s unique mechanism allows her to enable DoT.
Hysilens can only unlock her full potential if you use her with Kafka. Without Kafka, she struggles a lot.
4. Black Swan
Black Swan is a 5-Star Wind Nihility support and sub DPS character. Her abilities are crafted to disrupt not only her main target but also nearby enemies, making it harder for them to defend themselves. Her ultimate ability is especially powerful. It boosts the strength of Fate Card effects by weakening the resistance of those affected.

Additionally, her special talent kicks in when enemies are suffering from Damage over Time(DoT) effects. Unleashing Fate Cards that deal significant and lasting damage.
When teamed up with characters who deal consistent DoT damage, Black Swan’s debuffing skills truly stand out, allowing her to enhance the team’s overall effectiveness.
Final Thoughts
All of their pull values depend on your account and what’s your plan for the upcoming characters. If your planing to pull the upcoming Elation character, then Yao Guang is the best choice for your account. Black Swan and Hysilens make good synergies with Kafka. If you already have Kafka, or you will select Kafka from the free, limited 5-Star selector, then you can go for it.
In my opinion, Evernight has the lowest pull value because she relies heavily on teams. At this moment, no premium team members for Evernight will get their rerun banner, so she can’t unleash her full potential, and that reduces her pull value.
