If you’re looking to climb the ranks in Honor of Kings, improving your Hero Power and Lane Power is a crucial part of the process. These two key aspects define your ability to perform in matches, dictate how well you control the map, and influence your overall impact on the game. This article will guide you through the best strategies to boost both.
Hero Power and Lane Power Systems in HOK
The Hero power represents your overall skill and strength when using a particular hero. Hero power rating is usually graded based on ranked matches played with such heroes. However, the Lane Power represents your overall skill and strength when playing in a particular lane. In short, be it in the Clash Lane, Farm Lane, Mid Lane, Jungle, or as a Roamer, your Lane power rating for the corresponding Lanes would be increased.
In the Laning power system, the lane that the hero has been mostly used in is regarded as the one they belong to. If a hero has less than 5 games in total in the last 2 seasons, the hero will be counted toward the default lane. So, it is advisable to play more matches with each hero to have a much more accurate Lane power rating.
How to increase your Hero power
To raise your Hero power on your favourite hero, make sure to do the following:
- Play more Ranked matches on your chosen hero: The more matches the higher the overall rating.
- Prioritize winning ranked matches with your chosen hero. A high Overall Victory power would further increase your Hero power rating.
- Ranked Performance Power: In each match, all heroes are given individual ratings based on their participation in the team. Having a good KDA rating would further increase your Hero power rating.
- Peak Performance Power and Multiplier: Your all-time match performance rating increases your Hero power rating. This is helpful, especially during the weekly Hero rating medal reset.
How to increase your Lane power
The Lane power is calculated by adding up each Hero Power rating belonging to the specified Lane. In short, Lane Power = Main Hero Power + Proficient Hero Power
- Main Hero Power = Sum of the top 5 Heroes’ Power in the corresponding lane.
- Proficient Hero Power = The heroes with the 6th-10th highest Power in the corresponding lane × 0.2
To raise your Lane power rating on your favorite hero, make sure to do the following:
- Focus on playing the hero on its designated Lanes. This can be especially tricky for heroes that can be used in 2 different lanes. You just have to constantly play more matches in a lane with such a hero, to increase the overall Lane Power.
- To increase your Lane Power ensure that your Current Hero Power on a hero exceeds its all-time highest Hero Power rating.
- Ensure that your currently used Hero’s all-time High Power is amongst the top 5. This is especially an issue when maining new heroes, as other heroes with higher Hero Power will contribute more as they’re in your all-time highest Power.
Rewards and Benefits of Increasing your Hero and Lane Power
The main rewards that can be obtained on having a high Hero or Lane power, include:
- Medals: Playing more matches and increasing your Hero and Lane Power rating would reward Medals representing your overall strength in the hero or Lane as a whole. These medals are displayed in-match, on the loading screen, and your profile homepage.
- Titles: On attaining notable Hero and Lane power ratings, you will be rewarded with a Title commending your proficiency. These titles can range from Country leaderboards to Worldwide leaderboard titles.
