Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has already been around for 20 seasons, with the 20th season coming to an end. However, the game shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon. With such a large and supportive player base that is continuing to grow, ML is sure to be one of the most popular MOBAs for a long time. With that being said, even though there are over 1 billion downloads of the game and over 100 heroes to play, there are just some heroes that are overpowered and others that are still not viable. In this article, the tier list for the upcoming Mobile Legends July 2021 season will show which heroes players should prioritize mastering and which heroes are just no good in Ranked Games.

5 Best meta heroes in Mobile Legends Season 21
Aside from the usual meta heroes like Yve, Mathilda, Granger, and Jawhead that are usually banned in ranked mode, these heroes should be given special caution with the latest adjustments made to the equipment and the battlefield. Although not all are pick-or-ban quality heroes, they will certainly be stronger than they were in the past season, and players are highly recommended to learn them to rank up in Season 21.
Having been underestimated in the past few seasons, Lunox is back this season! Players wishing to manipulate Order and Chaos should be ready to pick her up in the first rotation in draft picks or look to ban her, as she can truly impact a game. Although Lunox tends to have a slow start in the early game, picking up a few of her core items like Clock of Destiny and Holy Crystal will make a huge difference. In addition, the adjustments made to Magic Penetration in the latest update will result in dealing with Lunox a huge headache.
Popol & Kupa
Although listed as a Marksman, this furry duo has quickly risen up the ranks as a quality Tank/Roamer. The early pressure from Popol & Kupa is quite frustrating, especially if the enemy Jungler has a weak early game like Claude or Aldous. Aside from the annoying lock-on stuns and AoE knock-ups, Popol also has the ability to place annoying traps around the map that can reveal hidden enemies if they happen to be in the vicinity, and immobilize them for a short period. A Flicker + Ultimate + Skill 2 + Skill 1 + Skill 3 combo will CC the enemy for so long it gives any ally on your team ample time to eliminate them. Popol & Kupa are not to be messed with and should either be picked first or banned altogether.
Hero Claude has been one of the harder marksman heroes to play since his release. It is due to the need to always stack up on his Passive to maintain a high Attack and Movement speed. In addition, Jungler Claude was also not a good pick in the past seasons due to the need to build Raptor Machete before moving on to his core items like Demon Hunter Sword and Golden Staff. However, with the elimination of Jungling items and the merge with Movement equipment, He is now able to start building DHS and his other core items straight away after finishing Boots, allowing him to be more of a threat in the early-mid game than before.
This bird humanoid is one of only 3 heroes in the entire MLBB roster that has the ability to suppress enemy heroes, the other 2 being Franco and Barats. Kaja’s Divine Judgement is just one of those Ultimates that is impossible to counter, as it completely shuts down the enemy for the next 2 seconds. With the addition of Shadow Twinblades to the Magic equipment lineup, it makes Kaja’s one-shot capability even stronger, coupled with items like Calamity Reaper and Holy Crystal. No matter how tanky the enemy hero is, there is now a way for Kaja players to shut them down in an instant.
Last but not least, the amicable dinosaur rider, Barats. Like Kaja, Barats also has a very useful suppress ability that is usable in many situations, including in teamfights. The potential to lock on the enemy Jungler and initiate a team fight with an AoE stun is just one of the reasons why Barats is so feared in the game. He is also a good counter to many meta fighters and tanks like Alice, Paquito, Esmeralda, and Uranus, because he can simply pick them up and spit them out within his tower range, winning the 1-v-1 in the side or off lane.
Season 21 will surely be filled with many interesting strategies to come. With the disappearance of the Diggie Feeder strategy and the de-popularization of Full Strike due to battlefield changes, traditional tanks are returning to the meta scene, as well as retro heroes. Players should be keeping an open mind and try out new combinations of heroes, lineups, and items to experiment with, and maybe, a new strategy will emerge soon. Until then, best of luck in your gaming!
