UCL Fantasy 2021/22 Matchday 3 Differentials: 5 players that can help boost your rank

It's easy to pick the big players, but who are some of the lesser know potential stars of the competition?

The 3rd matchday of the top-tier European Club football is back after a halt in the club fixtures. The International Break lets the fantasy managers take a break and decide the change they want to make in their UCL Fantasy teams. It is the current form and the apparently fitting fixtures that tempt fantasy managers to go for any option. However, in case, managers want to choose some off-beat or uncommon assets for their teams to take a shot for some ‘differential’ points, we are here to help. In this edition of the UCL fantasy 2021/22 matchday 3 differentials guide, we would be discussing 5 differential options, managers may choose to boost up their ranks ahead of others.

Here is an exclusive list from GamingonPhone of 5 UCL Fantasy Differentials, who may help managers to boost up their rank for Matchday 3. These players are selected keeping eye on every aspect of the tournament.

1. Joakim Mæhle (Defender) – 5.0 million

Joakim Mæhle had an inspiring international break for the Denmark National Team. The left wingback went full-on attacking prowess as he scored in both of his team’s wins against Andorra and Austria that sealed their place at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Atalanta sits on top of their group after their win against Young Boys. With Robin Gosens out with a long injury, Mæhle is guaranteed to start in the wingback role. Their opponents Manchester United have failed to keep a clean sheet in this season’s group stage and are coming from a heavy league defeat to Leicester City, so Mæhle could well be set to capitalize roaming forward down the left.

2. Cristiano (Defender) – 4.7 million

Perhaps the surprise of the UCL season so far has been the Moldovan team of Sheriff Tiraspol. The team’s €4.7m budget-priced defender option has thus far collected 21 fantasy points from 2 games only. The victories against Shakhtar and Real Madrid have kept Sheriff on top of the Group-D table. They play Inter Milan this week, who have been very poor in terms of goal scoring.

Also with the role Cristiano plays in Sheriff’s counterattacks, he has already bagged 3 assists in 2 UCL games for the debutant team from Tiraspol. Cristiano can safely be regarded as both a cheap-beast and differential option, and should deservedly make space in the teams of fantasy managers

3. Leroy Sané (Midfielder) – 9.0 million

With only 4% ownership, Bayern’s left-winger would be another option to choose. Managers always see Bayern players as a vital asset, and this €9m midfielder can prove to be a decent differential choice. Bayern will play against Benfica away this week and Sane is likely to feature in the game.

So far this season he has collected 23 UCL fantasy points from 2 UCL games. In Bundesliga, he has 2 goals and 3 assists in 7 appearances with an xG of 2.4. In UCL too, he has a goal and 2 assists to his name in 2 appearances. Fantasy managers looking for differential choices may consider him, for his comparatively low price for a midfielder.

4. Neymar Jr. (Forward) – 10.5 million

With the options available in this fantasy game, even Neymar Jr. can be referred to as a differential option. With around 4% ownership, the PSG talisman would be facing RB Leipzig this week. Although he hasn’t shown his class yet in the UCL, he just crossed the 70 goals mark for his National Team, with only Pele has scored more. Also, his league form hasn’t also been too good as of yet.

However, with the next opponent being RB Leipzig, who has been very poor in away fixtures, Neymar might deliver in that match. Besides, his 2.12 xG and 12 key passes along with 14 chances created across the league and UCL might seem quite tempting.

5. Karim Adeyemi (Forward) – 7.1 million

The German teen from Salzburg is also a potential Golden Boy contender. With 7.49 xG, Adeyemi has thus far bagged 8 goals and an assist for his team in the Austrian Bundesliga. The €7.1m forward has already bagged 24 UCL fantasy points in 2 UCL games. Salzburg will face Wolfsburg at home next.

Karim Adeyemi with only 3% ownership may prove himself to be a vital asset for that fixture. Fantasy managers looking for a differential should consider this asset, with over 70% shot on target success rate and 12 Key passes and 13 chances created in the league.
