If you are into a mobile strategy based survival games and following the mobile gaming scene from the past few years, then you must have heard or played Bonfire Forsaken Land. Developed by Xigma Games, the game got a positive responses on mobile platforms as well as Steam. Now, the developers are bringing a much-awaited sequel, Bonfire 2: Uncharted Shores. Team GamingonPhone had a chance to take an interview of the lead game developer Mr. Goverdhan Gosavi to know what’s there in Bonfire 2 Uncharted Shores for the gamers.
GamingonPhone: Bonfire was a side view but Bonfire 2 looks like a top-down version. So what’s the reason behind this big decision?
Mr. Gosavi: The Bonfire: Forsaken Lands was an experimental project for us, we mashed several genres and inspirations to come up with the unique formula for it and players liked it. With bonfire 2 we have taken the feedback from players into the design process. Players wanted a longer game with more depth. So we decided to let players design their own cities. We moved the camera to an overhead perspective to let players design their cities in any way they wish. We also have more resources, more worker customization and many more options that will provide a depth of gameplay.
GamingonPhone: What about the story? Is it going to continue from the previous one? or, Bonfire 2 will have a completely new one?
Mr. Gosavi: The Bonfire 2 continues the story of the previous game and takes place after the events of Bonfire 1. It follows a small group of explorers who are sent on a mission to find a way to defeat an evil sorcerer. They get stranded on an island in the midst of this and now they must build a village and seek out ancient artifacts to build their power.
GamingonPhone: Will it just be a single-player game? Or, there will be any sort of multiplayer features?
Mr. Gosavi: It will be a single-player game. There is no multiplayer feature in development as it is not possible for a small team like us to make a multiplayer game.
GamingonPhone: What is the expected release date?
Mr. Gosavi: We were planning to release it by this time, but it has been delayed to Summer 2020 due to various reasons.
GamingonPhone: What will be the pricing model?
Mr. Gosavi: It will be a premium game priced at USD 4.99 for mobile devices. We haven’t yet decided the price of the PC version.
Here is a gameplay video which you can see to gain more information along with this Bonfire 2 developer interview.
The game looks really promising. It gives the feel of a properly mixed strategy and survival game. However, it will be too early to comment on the game before testing it out.
