- The show follows a group of Crewmates trying to uncover a deadly Impostor aboard their spaceship.

Innersloth has officially taken Among Us one step further beyond being a fun social deduction game, as the long-awaited animated series has now arrived on Paramount+. Produced by CBS Studios alongside Innersloth and created by Owen Dennis, best known for his work in Infinity Train, this series was actually surprise-dropped on the platform with all ten episodes.
So, the series is based on Among Us, which is actually one of the biggest gaming phenomena of the last decade, and it now brings the familiar formula of suspicion, deception, and overall chaos into an adorable animated format. If you’ve ever accused your friends of being the Imposter during your gameplay sessions, this game is trying to capture that exact same energy but in a new way.
Among Us turns its iconic social deduction formula into an animated comedy mystery
To give you context, this Among Us animated series follows a group of eccentric Crewmates aboard a spaceship hauling junk across the galaxy. And as expected, things very quickly go wrong when an Imposter begins to eliminate the crew members, forcing everyone to figure out who among them can’t be trusted. And if you’re a longtime player, you will instantly find this setting familiar.
However, unlike our beloved game, they can’t rely on gameplay mechanics, as the show leans into character interactions, comedy, and mystery while expanding the universe beyond what our favorite game could explore. And you can now stream all ten episodes on Paramount+, while the first episode, A Pizza Party Where Nothing Bad Happens, is now streaming for free on YouTube, helping you check it out before committing to the full season.
A strong creative team gives the adaptation plenty of potential
Now, I’m sure that this animated series will do well, considering the solid talent behind the scenes. First of all, Owen Denis, who built a solid reputation through Infinity Train, an underrated series that earned praise for its storytelling, creative building, and more, is behind this series. Not only him, but the voice cast is also equally impressive, including big names like Yvette Nicole Brown, Randall Park, Elijah Wood, and more.
Animation duties for this series are handled by Titmouse, the studio behind famous projects like The Legend of Vox Machina and more. That said, Among Us is far from the first game to make a jump into an animated series, as overall, the last few years have seen the gaming industry work on multimedia projects, including hits like Arcane, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Goddess of Victory: NIKKE ‘s Outpost: Off-Duty Tales, and more.
And honestly, I’m loving the fact that the line between games and entertainment continues to blur every year. For Among Us, particularly, this expansion feels very intriguing because even the original offered only a basic premise and minimal lore. But like many fans, I do think they’re a few years late, as it would have done numbers had it been released during its peak years.
