Avatar: Reckoning to launch in China in H1 2024 with a global release later on

The developer Archosaur Games take charge of publishing

Archosaur Games, developer of the most awaited RPG Avatar: Reckoning, announced that the game will be releasing in the first half of 2024 in China, also the publisher Level Infinite will no longer be in charge. Instead, the company will publish the game in China and the global market.

Archosaur Games has many successful titles such as Dragon Raja, Noah’s Heart etc under their belt. Recently, the game’s developer released a press note where it announced that it would be publishing the game in the future. Thus, Level Infinite is no longer a part of the game’s publishing business.

Avatar: Reckoning will have another beta test in China in January 2024

The latest press release shared by the company (via PoBearPlays) in Chinese and translated by GamingonPhone, states that in January 2024, the game will commence another test in mainland China. Later, Avatar: Reckoning will be launched in the country in the first half of the year.

Following the test and the release, the press release also quoted, “The company will promote the game to be launched in other regions around the world“. While Tencent’s Level Infinite will no longer publish Avatar: Reckoning, the company itself will take care of it. The RPG title has received an operating license from the Chinese authorities and will be rolling out the game by itself soon.

Being part of a big IP and big names working behind it, the game raised a lot of expectations from the fans. Subsequently, the title failed to continue the hype and instead, it gathered mixed feedback from the testers. Last June, the game entered a closed beta test for Android devices exclusively in the Philippines.

Following the announcement of the game back on January 13, 2022, several studios were jointly in operation for developing and publishing the game. Besides Tencent and Archosaur, Disney and Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment are also part of Avatar: Reckoning. The game held a closed beta test in Canada during the first quarter of 2022. The game is based on James Cameron’s hit 2009 movie “Avatar”.
