Some new major information has been revealed during Electronic Arts’ Q4 FY22 financial call regarding Battlefield Mobile, EA’s upcoming AAA title which brings the Battlefield experience to mobile devices. It was announced that Battlefield Mobile will release globally at the start of next year, ie 2023.
Battlefield Mobile will be only conducting beta tests this year
When asked about the status of the game during the call, Andrew Wilson, the Chairman, and CEO of EA said:
Those who’ve been waiting for the game (probably with rather diminished enthusiasm), finally have a rough time frame. 2023 is still quite far away however the game does seem to be having regular beta tests, with one scheduled at the end of May as stated by Andrew and already announced by Industrial Toys.
It’s rather strange that he mentions how he’s played the game and feels that it has potential since it hasn’t made the best impressions so far due to the graphic quality and gameplay lacking, to say the least. However, we might see some improvements in this upcoming alpha, although nothing can be promised right now.
The delay in release might affect the game in the long run
However, the thing to note here is that there are a whole lot of other AAA titles scheduled for launch (with Apex Legends Mobile right at our doorstep and beta tests of Rainbow Six Mobile and Valorant Mobile looking way more impressive) and possibly before Battlefield Mobile, so it could have a tough time if it delays its entry too much.
