Clash of Clans is bringing Warrior Queen skin for AQ in Lunar New Year

This post was last updated on

Lunar New Year has generally proven to be a good time for gamers. Especially if there is a huge Chinese player base or the developers are from China, the gamers get some attention during this time. Supercell’s Clash of Clans is bringing an exclusive skin for Archer Queen this Lunar New Year. It is called Warrior Queen Skin which is exclusively available for 10 US Dollar.

The video was first published in the Chinese social media which made the people assume that the skin might be available for China only. However, later the main Clash of Clans (English) YouTube channel posted the same video, ending the rumour of China-exclusive skin for Archer Queen.

The stop-motion or claymation video shows a brief about the Archer Queen and how she stops her regular work and picks up with warrior clothes. It definitely touches the emotional chord of the clashers.

Is the Warrior Queen skin an imitation of Mulan?

Discussions have been going on across various social media about the origin of this new Warrior Queen skin. However, the Clash of Clans forum is saying that the skin is an imitation of Chinese warrior Mulan. ‘Mulan’ or ‘Hua Mulan’ is a legendary female warrior who belonged to the Northern and Southern Dynasties period of Chinese History. There is also a film released in 1998 by Disney on Mulan.

With this Lunar New Year, players can buy the Warrior Queen skin with 10 USD in the game. This is exclusively for the celebration of this event.

Although it is nice to see some real-life event exclusive skins for the heroes, many of the players are not liking it. While the monthly pass costs 5 USD, the skin itself is costing 10 USD. And each monthly pass contains one season exclusive hero skin. So what was Supercell’s intention behind bringing this skin, none knows. Maybe they wanted to provide just another skin for grabbing some money? Or maybe they wanted to provide one exclusive skin? Whatever it is, the community is definitely on the other side because of the high price tag.
