Well, few even have thoughts on this being implemented on the regular ladder, However, a recent revelation has indicated that the tests have been carried out regarding the ban of cards in the ladder of the Chinese Clash Royale test server.
Banning cards in the ladder might open some interesting matchups
The ladder mode or the Trophy road has long been a mainstay of Clash Royale, allowing players to advance up the ranks and compete against opponents of varied difficulty. It remains untouched generally and depends on the user level to get an edge against an opponent.

There have been frequent complaints among the player base regarding the frequent use of a few overpowered cards, especially mid-ladder, which is due to the players being fixed to one certain deck and not skilled enough to experiment. However, the recent test server mode might make this more competitive than usual.
Twitter user Akina_CR revealed the test mode in the Chinese server where players ban certain cards from their opponents’ decks. Suppose you are using a log-bait deck, but what if you are banning the log? That’s a wonderful strategy, but at the same time, it tests the skills of the opponent in the game. You should think of your deck’s weakness and select it.
The community also found this to be interesting on Reddit. Still, we do not have a clear picture of how it is implemented. Once again, this is just a test server implementation opened for a few creators, but nevertheless, it is very interesting to see if this arrives in the game at any point.
