Kadokawa has announced that they will release a mobile game adaptation of their popular anime series Date A Live. The mobile game titled Date A Live Spirit Crisis will be released in Japan to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Date A Live series.
The story of Date A Live is a romantic comedy of a young boy who meets different types of girls with different personalities and cuteness. The franchise originally started as a series of light novels. It was then adapted into a popular anime that premiered in 2013. The light novels have been published in Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint since 2011. The novels are works of collaboration between novelist Tachimura Kakitsu and illustrator Tsunako.
Date A Live Spirit Crisis to feature popular characters from its anime movie version
An official website for Date A Live Spirit Crisis has been launched which is teasing the appearance of Mayuri who appeared previously in the anime movie version of Date A Live. Along with that, some classic characters like Toka and Kyouzo are also being teased. Apart from the original novels, spin-off works and characters that played an active part in PS3 and PS4 games are also expected to appear.
The developers have not shared any details about the gameplay. However, some Redditors are speculating that the game is will feature gameplay similar to Date A Live: Spirit Pledge – Global. It is an action/dating simulation game based on the popular light novel series Date A Live and officially licensed by Kadokawa Shoten.
It offers a fresh take on romantic visual novel formula by fusing various simulation elements to enhance the immersion of the in-game world. This is being speculated because Date A Live: Spirit Pledge – Global does not have a dedicated Japanese version, it only has a Chinese and a global version.
It is expected that the developers of Date A Live Spirit Crisis will soon be sharing more details about the game on its official website. The game does not have a release date as of now but as the 10th anniversary of the series is approaching soon a date will be revealed soon.
