- The rebranding is aimed at bridging the gap between franchise veterans and newcomers
- Using "Delta Force" alone can push the game's appeal by capitalizing on the name's popularity
- Delta Force had previously updated its logo with a minor tweak
Delta Force: Hawk Ops has announced that it going to be rebranded to simply as Delta Force. This news was shared in line with the game’s showcase at the gamescom 2024 Opening Night Live on August 21, 2024.
Delta Force had previously updated its logo with a minor design tweak
The exact reason why Delta Force: Hawk Ops was rebranded was disclosed to align with the team’s vision of creating the Delta Force game that bridges the gap between loyal veterans of the franchise and newcomers. The Game Director also wishes to create the present game as an experience that “honors the legacy” of the series.
Considering the Delta Force franchise’s significant legacy, the makers view this game as a spiritual successor to the original 1998 release, and hence the decision to drop the “Hawk Ops” name seems wise. Rebranding to Delta Force could also help the makers boost the game’s appeal by leveraging the popularity and recognition of the established name. This will surely excite the ones who played the franchise’s older games.
Before the renaming, the logo was also changed. If you noticed, the positioning of the lightning bolt is now different compared to the old logo. In the first logo, the second image features the lightning bolt slightly offset within the triangle compared to the new one where the lightning bolt is centered within the triangle.
Delta Force is a cross-platform tactical shooter with TiMi Studios at the helm of development duties that was first announced globally on August 19, 2023. The game had already been unveiled for the Chinese market in the same year in July as Operation Delta, and by October 2023, the Global Play Testing Roadmap for the game was disclosed and earlier this year, an offline hands-on event was also held.
As for the current status of the game, the Early Access on PC is set to arrive in the fourth quarter of 2024. The game is also slated for a release in China this September 2024, so we will get a clear overview of what the game is like before its awaited global launch.
