Handy Games brought the non-violent stealth game, El Hijo – A Wild West Tale over a year ago on Switch, PS4, Xbox, PC, and Stadia. Developed by Honig Studios and Quantumfrog, El Hijo- A Wild West Tale is now set to release on mobile devices by Handy Games on the 25th of January, 2022.
The game will include full controller support and it is going to release later this month as a premium release on both iOS and Android devices. The iOS version of the game will also include Apple TV support.
Follow a boy on his journey to escape a secluded monastery
The story of the game revolves around a six-year-old named “El Hijo”, who must always sneak past the dangers of his world. As he overcomes his challenges, he gains self-confidence, becomes more cunning. Along with it, he finds more schemes to get past his foes. The epic journey of the protagonist leads him through various places such as a remote monastery, a harsh and unforgiving stretch of desert and a frontier town rife with crime and villainy.
The journey of the player begins, when a farmer and her son are attacked by bandits who raze their farm to the ground. The mother decides to leave the boy at a secluded monastery to protect him. However, the place doesn’t feel right and the boy starts planning his escape. The game will guide the players on the quest of a 6-year-old boy to find his mother.
El Hijo- A Wild West Tale: New mechanics to be added to existing ones to increase the challenge
An exciting spaghetti-western stealth game, the game will see the player relying on the mischievous, playfulness of a young child. Using the shadows to his advantage is the core element of the game as “El Hijo”, the player will often have to hide. The developers have planned that, without needlessly adding new mechanics.
The gameplay of the game will be extended naturally, as variations of existing mechanics are gradually introduced and then combined to increase the challenge. These twists on familiar mechanics are often a product of the varied, increasingly dangerous environments that “El Hijo” must traverse to reach his ultimate goal. The game also has a gripping storyline about a brave son searching for his lost mother.
The game is currently available on Switch, PS4, Xbox, Stadia, and Steam for $19.99 USD. The iOS and Android releases are set to be priced at $9.99 USD. There are huge expectations from Handy Games, as they are the publishers of some famous mobile games such as SpongeBob SquarePants: The Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated and One Hand Clapping.
