Epic Games defeats Fortnite Cheater in court, donates the damages to charity

BlazeFN paid a hefty amount to Epic games!

A lot of cheat hacks go around in games but the gaming franchises doesn’t take action until something intolerable happens. One such case came into the limelight when a guy named Despotakis broke the rules of the Epic games. Epic Games now defeats the Fortnite cheater in the court and he has been made to apologize publically.

Court Judgement declared the cheater as culprit for violating Fortnite End User License Agreement (EULA)

Epic games took the cheater to court in Australia, with epic games winning the case. The cheater better known as BlazeFN had to apologize publically and close down all his unlawful business of selling cheated and compromised accounts. The penalty with which he is charged will be donated to charity.

The Federal Court of Australia declared Brandon Despotakis as the culprit for violating the Fortnite End User License Agreement (EULA) and terms of services, infringing on Epic’s copyright, unlawful selling of in-game accounts and cheats to other players. This proceeding began back in April 2021 and the court made a judgement now in May 2022. The BlazeFN shop items included a lot of things ranging from aimbots, to ‘full access V-Bucks accounts’, and ‘inactive’ accounts. These accounts had rare/popular skins, pre-completed battle passes, and other illegal offerings. These items were a replica of the items from the Fortnite shop.

Even after all the proceedings and background checks, it’s unclear how many such accounts were sold. So not all accounts are under legal proceedings at the moment. But it’s pretty much sure that all of these accounts will be subjected to penalties at the very least. Selling or buying accounts in Fortnite is a breach of the game’s terms even when cheats aren’t involved. Epic Games offered a statement on this subject.

“Selling compromised player accounts and cheat technologies puts people’s information at risk and ruins the experience for people who are playing fairly. We take the illegal sale of these items seriously and we’ll pursue all available options to make sure our games remain fun, fair, and never pay-to-win.”
