- Star Signings system leaked as potential new feature in FC Mobile.
- With this system you can use Star Shards to sign players of choice.
- Shards earned through player releases, events, quests, and store offers.
Right after the PlayStyles system was officially confirmed, it looks like FC Mobile might have another update in the works. This time, it’s something called the Star Signings system, which has started popping up through early leaks, and it could be a good addition to FC Mobile, and I’ll explain why.
This feature could mark the return of the event shards in FC Mobile
From what I’ve seen, this system is centered around something called Star Shards, which you can use to sign players directly instead of relying fully on packs or the current draft system. The info comes from MadridistaaFC, who has been pretty reliable with FC Mobile leaks in the past, so this could be a strong rumour or even a good idea.
So here’s how the system seems to work. We’ll have a separate menu to access this and will also have a separate currency. You earn Star Shards by releasing players from your club, completing events and quests, or even through store offers.
Once you have enough shards, you can go into the player list, pick the player you want, and sign them directly. There’s also seemingly an option to save players to a watchlist if you want to go for them later.
If you notice, this looks very similar to the old shard system we used to get in events, just presented in a slightly different way. Instead of slowly collecting shards for specific events like before, this feels more like a single system where everything feeds into one currency.
A lot of players weren’t happy when the shard system was removed. It gave a sense of progress where even if you didn’t pack top players, you were still working toward them step by step. Compared to that, the current draft system is more luck-based.

That said, the old shard system wasn’t perfect either. It did push people towards opening more packs, and over time, the costs kept increasing. Still, it at least gave players a guaranteed option, which is something many feel is missing right now.
For now, this is still a rumour or can even be a fan concept, so nothing is confirmed yet. But with PlayStyles already on the way, it wouldn’t be surprising if more systems like this are lined up for future updates to make FC Mobile more fun.
