FIFA Mobile 22 is now globally available with new events, features and more

The wait is finally over!

With the new season update finally coming soon; EA has finally revealed their final FIFA Mobile new season sneak peeks. With a roster of new events, features, brand new revamped training, and market FIFA Mobile 22 is something all the players have waited for and looked forward to, for a long long time. Besides the promising reviews of FIFA Mobile 22 beta, players are now more excited than ever!

In this article, we will dive deep into the new season going over the Core Content and Market. We’ll touch on Icon Journeys, Daily Training, League Tour, Star Pass, Division Rivals, and the Market. Besides these, there is a change in the Skill Boosts, Chemistry, Leagues, and introduction of Exchanges in the new season.

FIFA Mobile 22 new and returning features

Icon Journeys

FIFA Mobile 22 introduces a brand new Icon Journeys. You will play through several matches and complete a number of milestones to earn your very own Prime Icon. This mode is very similar to the Gullit and Zidane event from the yesteryears. This event guarantees everyone a free Prime Icon with extensive grinding.

From the image, it is evident that Fernando Torres will arrive as this season’s Prime Icon. The Spaniard is everyone’s favorite and needless to say, everyone is looking forward to having El Nino scoring bangers for their ultimate team. Icon or special events like these usually stay for throughout the entire season giving players ample time to skill up themselves and finish the matches.

Daily Training

Remember the Daily Training mode from the FIFA Mobile of the past! Yes, that is back and in a revamped manner! Jump into the training ground a few quick Skill Games and Matches. You will earn points that you can use towards base rewards and in-game resources.

League Tour

A complete brand new section that allows you to play more daily Skill Games and Matches to earn more rewards and base players.

Star Pass and Quests

As usual, the Star Pass is back. Similar to previous seasons, one will need to complete daily and weekly quests to earn base rewards and Star Pass Points. Quests include playing VS Attack and Head to Head matches to grinding out daily Skill Games or scoring a certain number of goals.

Earning Star Pass Points will unlock more rewards along the Star Pass path. Needless to say, there will be two tiers to the Star Pass: free and paid. You can also use FIFA Points to skip through Star Pass levels and collect rewards faster. Also, the paid rewards will be more lucrative and useful for the player’s progression in the game.

Division Rivals

The PvP and competitive aspect of the game, Division Rivals is also making a return. Play the usual VS Attack or Head to Head to rise up the ranks and challenge for better rewards. Battle it out against the best to finish on the leaderboards and earn logos. The divisions are listed out as follows:

Divisions

  • Amateur III, II, I
  • Pro III, II, I
  • World Class III, II, I
  • Legendary III, II, I
  • FIFA Champion

As always, you will get rewards once you progress into the tiers. The rewards will be:

DivisionRivals

  • Individual Match Rewards: Earn Star Pass Points and Coins for every Division Rivals match you play. This will get you progress along the Star Pass path for extra rewards.
  • Division Rivals Promotion Rewards: Every time you move up a Division, you’ll receive Coins and Rank Up item rewards. Rise up all the way to FIFA Champion to earn the most promotion rewards.
  • Division Rivals Season Rewards: At the end of every month, receive specific rewards based on the Division you reached. And ofcourse If you reach over 1 million Fans, you’ll be reset back to 1 million Fans after the month.
  • Leaderboard Logos: For the best VS Attack and Head to Head players, you can continue to compete for leaderboard placement in Division Rivals. There are special logos for both VS Attack and Head to Head leaderboard: Top 250, Top 100, Top 50, Top 10, and the Top 3 players.

Of course, pro players can progress further into the FIFA Champion with their cups once they reach that level. But there isn’t any mention of a FIFA Master Tier as of yet.

Introducing the new Market in FIFA Mobile 22

Our beloved market as you have known is now completely history. With the beta, EA has now introduced a brand new market feature in FIFA Mobile 22. There are some slight but important changes to the format. The Market is now Peer Peer, meaning that you need another user, yes a human and not a bot to directly purchase your player for it to sell. However, the main theme is still the same: use the Market to buy and sell players.

The basic layout of the market remains the same. For looking up a particular player, you can either search directly for the player, or you can go to the brand new Recommended section for continuously refreshing Market listings. The search filter lets you search by Name, OVR, Team, League, Nation, Program, Skill Boost, and Price.

Buying Players from the FIFA Mobile 22 Market

Once you’ve found the player you want to buy, you will have to put in a purchase order at a select price. There is a minimum and maximum order price you can submit, based on player demand. If only another user lists your desired player at your committed price, then you will officially purchase the player.

The Market works on a queue, so if there are multiple purchase orders at the same price, the purchase will go to the user who submitted the purchase order first. Yes, this is a little complex at first and prices can fluctuate based on demand so you will need to check the market from time to time to understand the demand of a player and then know his best value.

Selling players in the FIFA Mobile 22 Market

Selling players works similarly to buying them but in the other way round. Head over to the My Players tab and you’ll be able to see the players available for you to sell. Make sure to unlock your players (on the player details screen in My Team) to make them available to sell.

From there, press the Sell button to bring up the listing page. You have the option to sell your player on the market for any price between the current highest and lowest price. There is also the option to Quick Sell your player for a heavily discounted amount. Similarly here also it is important to know what is in demand and act accordingly. Since it’s not a bot market anymore and completely peer to peer, none of your players are guaranteed to sell if the demand is not there from beforehand.

Selling Market

You can track your live sales listing in the My Orders tab. You’ll get a notification if a buyer purchases your player listing and you’ll receive the coin amount. Remember, all Market sales receive a 10% deduction. Yes, all! If your player listing isn’t selling, you have the option to Relist it at a different price. Additionally, there is also a price curve available for each player from where you can monitor what price other players are buying and selling their players for. From there, you can decide if you want to wait for the player to decrease in price before purchasing him! The market of this year will require a lot of time and patience for you to invest in.

Watchlist

Additionally, there is a brand new section Watchlist. If there’s a player you’d like to keep an eye on but you aren’t ready to buy yet due to fewer coins or any other difficulty, you can directly add him to your watchlist! Here you can track his latest price and decide to buy at a later state or drop him and look for better options altogether!

Changes in the Training System and Rank Ups in FIFA Mobile 22

Training

Training and Rank Up works in a similar but modified way from yesteryears. The goal is the same, to upgrade your players on the basis of their OVRs and stats. You will use other players from the same position group (Attacker, Midfielder, Defender, Goalkeeper) as Training XP. From there, you’ll be able to level up your player and ultimately boost their OVR.

Training is now the Level is when you melt one or more players into another player. Training Levels increase your player stats but not their OVR. On the other hand, Ranking up a player is when you use a Rank Up Item to increase their OVR and stats. For every 5 Training Levels, you can Rank Up your player by using a position-specific Rank Up Item to give them a +1 OVR boost.

Level and Rank Up costs naturally scale up as you upgrade your player more, but they are consistent regardless of your player’s starting OVR. For example, taking an 80 OVR player to 85 OVR will cost the same amount of coins and Rank Items as taking a 90 OVR player to 95 OVR. Here’s an example of some of the Training XP & Coin costs you can expect to see in the new season.

Transfering Training and Ranks from player to player

This is a common and popular method among players to train a particular player with training XP and then transfer the same to another player gaining a nice coin discount in the process. Well, with most other processes, even Transferring Training is making a change. You still have the option of transferring your training Ranks from one player to another.

transfer training
Image via Electronic Arts

This means you can take the Ranks and/or OVR boost to another player of at least 1 less training. For example, a Rank 5 player can transfer his training to any player of Rank 4 or less. The OVR of the players does not matter. Transferring training costs either a Training Transfer Item or FIFA Points. Yes, you heard that right! FIFA Points!

After a Transfer, the Training Level and Rank Level will not change. The target player’s training level must be at least 1 less than that of the transferring player and meet the training requirements. The transferring player item will be retained after the transfer.

Explaining the Skill Boost system in FIFA Mobile 22

The most essential part of any FIFA Mobile season is the Skill Boosts. Just to remind, the players use Skill Boosts to upgrade the stats of their starting players. They’ll receive boosts to 5 attributes that vary by Skill Boost type and whether your player is starting in his correct position. Skill Boost types, attributes, and costs have changed slightly from last season. Check out the table below for the additional details and changes:

Currently, Skill Boosts can be upgraded to level 10 which will only increase in the future as we know from previous seasons. Here is the cost of the Skill Boosts across the levels, and the Coins required to level them up.

Playing players out of Position

As we already know, to get the full stats impact of Skill Boosts and utilize them to their maximum, you want to have your players in their primary position. Playing out of position results in a Skill Boost stats penalty. However, every player has a secondary and tertiary position where they can still receive a slightly reduced Skill Boost stat impact.

This season, out-of-position stats penalties are no longer percentile-based, but a straight flat reduction. The below chart explains the skill boost penalty with details according to the change of the player’s positions.

Team Chemistry, Leagues, and introducing Player Exchanges

Team Chemistry

Since its advent Chemistry has been a very important aspect of FIFA Mobile. Team Chemistry as we know is the system that improves your starting lineup when you include players from the same club, league, nation, or event. In-game Chemistry confers advantages in VS Attack in the form of better chances.

Your team’s Chemistry is important, as it determines how you perform in VS Attack or League vs League. No matter what you’re doing in FIFA Mobile, having high Chemistry is going to be a positive for your team. Players can unlock higher Chemistry as they increase their Account Level. One can reach the maximum of 100 Chemistry once they hit Account Level 30.

Leagues

Play with your friends and challenge other Leagues in a turn-based VS Attack! The usual returning Leagues is back with a different getup. Defeat other Leagues to earn Fame and rise up the leaderboards for bragging rights.

And instead of Perks this season, you’ll earn League Points by playing Tournaments. Take your hard-earned League Points to the Store for base rewards like Skill Boosts! This is similar to FIFA Mobile of two years ago when we received League Points for Leagues instead of Perk rewards.

Player Exchanges

Trade-in specific players or special currencies that fit requirements to receive player rewards. This sounds like SBCs, but wait, here this out. This new format will replace Squad Building Challenges in the new season. Yes in the next season, we won’t be having Squad Building Challenges like the current season.

Player Exchanges
Image via Electronic Arts

It works similarly to SBCs, except that it isn’t laid out in a formation view. You can trade-in players in exchange for coins. This doesn’t sound entirely exciting but that’s about it, SBCs gone with the bot market into whoosh, thin air!

Final Thoughts
