Fortnite brings Reload Mode featuring classic weapons, locations and more

Fortnite is a fast-paced action-packed battle royale game from Epic Games. Fortnite has introduced the Reload mode which is a thrilling Battle Royale mode packed with nostalgia, featuring classic weapons, iconic locations, and a retro vibe for you and your squad. Launched on June 22, Reload offers a 40-player experience on a tighter map with familiar spots like Tilted Towers and Retail Row.

In this mode, squads can reboot as long as one member remains, but a full team wipe means Game Over. Whether you prefer Battle Royale or Zero Build, the last squad standing wins. Get ready for the ultimate throwback showdown!

Fortnite OG returns with Reload Mode featuring Tilted Towers

Fortnite Reload brings an intense Fill or No Fill Squads experience that rewards aggressive play and strategic decisions. When a player is eliminated, their reboot timer starts immediately, beginning at 30 seconds and increasing to 40 seconds as the match progresses. Teammates can actively reduce this timer by downing opponents, eliminating them, or wiping out entire squads.

This creates a dynamic where playing aggressively not only helps secure eliminations but also ensures quicker reboots for your squad. Players can choose to start their reboot timer immediately when downed, adding a layer of strategic depth to the game.

Set on a tighter map featuring iconic locations like Tilted Towers and Retail Row, Fortnite Reload offers a nostalgic yet thrilling experience. This 40-player mode demands constant vigilance and quick thinking as the smaller map leads to frequent encounters and intense firefights. The automatic reboot system encourages players to stay engaged, knowing that survival can hinge on the timely actions of a lone squad member.

As the match progresses and reboot times increase, the strategic stakes are raised. Towards the end of the game, reboots will stop entirely, meaning that once teammates are lost, they cannot return. This makes late-game survival and positioning crucial, as a full team wipe will result in Game Over. The final objective remains simple: be the last squad standing to secure victory.

This new mode promises to deliver high-octane action and strategic gameplay, blending the classic elements of Fortnite with fresh challenges and mechanics. Prepare your squad, strategize your moves, and dive into the retro-futuristic battlefield for an unforgettable showdown.

Victory Crowns can be earned in Reload mode in normal Battle Royale or Zero Build

Fortnite Reload takes players to a compact island that’s easy to traverse on foot, eliminating the need for drivable vehicles. Despite this, the island is packed with a variety of unvaulted loot at launch, including the Revolver, Tactical Shotgun, Lever Action Shotgun, OG Heavy Shotgun, Tactical Submachine Gun, Infantry Rifle, Heavy Assault Rifle, Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle, Rocket Launcher, and Grappler.

Victory Crowns can be earned as usual. When rebooted, players respawn with a common Assault Rifle and, in Build mode, 100 wood. Upon elimination, players drop Small Shield Potions, medium ammo, light ammo, shotgun shells, and 50 of each building material in Build mode. This is in addition to their entire inventory, ensuring players stay well-equipped. This blend of classic and new mechanics keeps the gameplay engaging and strategic.

Level up your Fortnite game with the Fortnite Reload intro Quests, each granting a hefty 20,000 XP boost. Complete three quests to unlock the Digital Dogfight Contrail, six for the Pool Cubes Wrap, and nine to claim the NaNa Bath Back Bling! Stay cool under pressure to dodge any accusations of having no chill. If you bag a Victory Royale, you’ll snag The Rezzbrella Glider.
