Fortnite Mobile adds new restrictions to the game making it adult only

V-Bucks to become useless in Fortnite Mobile!

Fortnite, the action-packed battle royale game from Epic Games is a very popular game with a huge player base. Sadly a huge chunk of their fan base doesn’t have the means to play it from a PC or console for various reasons and have to settle by playing through their mobiles. Some not-so-good news has been dropped for the mobile users of Fortnite from the official Twitter handle of Fortnite as they add new restrictions for the players.

Players won’t be allowed to spend V-Bucks after January 30, 2023

Fortnite has not been available on the App Store and the Google Play Store since 2020 because of its legal dispute with Apple and Google respectively. For this reason, players have been unable to get an update on the version of the game they downloaded at the very beginning, which is an app build 13.40. This already cuts off a huge chunk of new content that has been introduced in Fortnite such as their new map for example.

Now, this version of the game is going to become even more restrictive as announced by Fortnite. Players won’t be able to spend V-Bucks anymore. They should also be older than 18 years of age to be allowed to play the game.

Fortnite might be coming back to iOS in 2023

The mobile users of Fortnite shouldn’t lose all hope just yet as Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeny had himself announced that Fortnite might after all come back to the App Store in 2023. This means that all Apple users will be able to download the latest version of the game along with all its new content and features, and with the ability to spend V-Bucks once again.

Even if there are talks of a possible App Store return, there are no updates on the game’s scenario with the Google Play Store. This might be a little disheartening but the game is progressing in the right direction if they are successful in coming back to iOS, which would mean Android won’t be much far behind.
