Roblox fans might be disappointed with this title I wrote, but the news had to be shared. FreshCut, a popular gaming community platform and app covering Roblox, will shut down on June 14th, 2024, the company abruptly announced on Wednesday, June 12.
Not being able to build a sustainable business ultimately led to FreshCut’s demise
FreshCut serves as the ultimate social hub for the Roblox community, designed for both creators and fans. Thanks to this, you could discover trending videos, memes, games, and discussion topics from your favorite Roblox communities and creators. In addition, you can finish daily quests and receive rewards correlated to the app.
However, despite extensive efforts, the team was unable to build a sustainable business, particularly in the current financial climate, as mentioned in the official post. The team says that various options were explored, but ultimately, a solution to keep the platform going was not found, and hence this decision was taken.
Speaking of accomplishments, FreshCut evolved into a unique Roblox social community, growing to over 2.5 million users, a 50-fold increase in a year. Speaking numbers, the platform hosted 300,000 creators, featured hundreds of partners, collaborated with over 50 remarkable Roblox games and developers, and helped many prominent brands reach new audiences.
Before exiting, the FreshCut team extended their heartfelt thanks. From the official announcement, the FreshCut app will be available until 9 AM PST on Friday, June 14th, before it is shut down permanently. It had apps on both Android and iOS platforms. As for the final payouts, they will be finalized by June 21st, 2024, whereas the outstanding Diamond Balances will be automatically cashed out.
