Genshin Impact to release two new Artifacts with the Version 3.3 update

The new update is already looking great!

Genshin Impact releases new artifact sets to keep up with the new characters that are released.  In the same vein, the two new artifact sets to be released in Genshin Impact version 3.3 will also benefit a select group of characters. This article will go over these two sets in-depth. At launch, most artifact sets were generalist and could benefit most characters.

But recently there has been a trend for releasing hyper-specific sets that benefit very few characters. For example, the Husk of Opulent Dreams set for DEF scaling Geo characters such as Itto, Albedo, Noelle, Gorou, etc. The Vermillion Hereafter set benefits characters that lose HP after using an elemental burst, which is Xiao.

Genshin Impact Version 3.3 update: Flower of Paradise Lost artifacts

The Flower of Paradise Lost artifact set can be misleading at first. It might seem like it is a good set for Nahida or Nilou, but in reality, none of them are the ones causing the reactions. This set only increases the Dendro reaction DMG of the character causing the reaction.

For example, if Yae or Fischl is causing Hyperblooms, they will be required to equip this set to maximize the reaction DMG, not the character applying Dendro. In the case of a Nilou Bloom team, the character causing the reaction is usually the Hydro character other than Nilou, and that character is the one who needs to equip this set.

A dedicated Dendro DPS character could also be an ideal candidate for this set since they are the ones triggering Dendro reactions while on-field. There is no official confirmation yet, but Alhaitham could be this character. Another likely candidate could be a Burgeon-focused Pyro character since they are the ones triggering Burgeon while on-field. There is no official confirmation yet, but Dehya could be this character. Recently, the 4pc bonus of this set was changed. The Dendro reaction DMG bonus has been changed from 50% to 40%.

Genshin Impact Version 3.3: Desert Pavilion Chronicle artifacts

The Desert Pavillion Chronicle artifact set looks like it was tailor-made for Wanderer, who is also being released in version 3.3. From the information available so far, Wanderer’s playstyle is heavily reliant on normal and charged attacks. Therefore he will benefit from the normal attack speed bonus as well as the normal/charged/plunge DMG bonus.

Since he is a catalyst user, all of his DMG is Anemo by default. Therefore he will benefit from the 15% Anemo DMG bonus. Heizou is another Anemo character who could benefit from equipping this artifact set since his optimal playstyle requires him to perform multiple charged attacks in a row.

An unlikely beneficiary of this artifact set could be Xiao since his playstyle is reliant on plunging attacks. Although he has already received his best-in-slot artifact set in the form of the Vermillion Hereafter set released in version 2.6, further testing is required to find out which set is better. Recently, the 4pc bonus of this set was changed. The normal/charged/plunging attack bonus has been changed from 30% for 10s to 40% for 15s.

Final thoughts

Players willing to pull for Wanderer should start farming the Desert Pavilion Chronicle set as soon as it is released. As for the Flower of Paradise Lost, players are advised to wait til testing proves that the set is better than the sets that are already equipped on the characters causing Dendro reactions.
