Genshin Impact version 3.6 will go live once the server maintenance is over. The server maintenance begins at 06:00 (UTC+8) on 12th April 2023 and is estimated to take 5 hours. Players will be able to pull on the character and weapon banners once 3.6 goes live. The banners will be available till 2nd May 2023 17:59 server time. Genshin Impact version 3.6 Phase 1 banners will feature no new characters or weapons.
Genshin Impact version 3.6 Phase I first character banner: The Moongrass’ Enlightenment
This banner features the first-ever rerun of the event-exclusive 5* character Lesser Lord Kusanali aka “Physic of Purity” Nahida (dendro/catalyst) since her release in version 3.2. She is the best Dendro applicator in the entire roster and one of the most broken characters ever.
Nahida will be accompanied by the 4* characters “Mender of Tribulations” Kuki Shinobu (electro/sword), “Treasure of Dream Garden” Dori (electro/claymore), and “Fantastical Evening Star” Layla (cryo/sword) who will receive a huge drop-rate boost. These three 4* characters are also permanently available in the Standard Wish – Wanderlust Invocation without any boosted drop rates.
Genshin Impact version 3.6 Phase I second character banner: Twirling Lotus
This banner features the first-ever rerun of the event-exclusive 5* character “Dance of Lotuslight” Nilou (hydro/sword). She specializes in a modified version of the Bloom reaction.
Nilou will be accompanied by the 4* characters “Mender of Tribulations” Kuki Shinobu (electro/sword), “Treasure of Dream Garden” Dori (electro/claymore), and “Fantastical Evening Star” Layla (cryo/sword) who will receive a huge drop-rate boost. These three 4* characters are also permanently available in the Standard Wish – Wanderlust Invocation without any boosted drop rates.
Genshin Impact version 3.6 Phase I Weapon banner: Epitome Invocation
This banner will feature the 5* event-exclusive weapons A Thousand Floating Dreams and Key of Khaj-Nisut. These are the signature best-in-slot weapons for Nahida and Nilou, respectively.
This banner will also feature the event-exclusive 4-star weapon Xiphos’ Moonlight (sword) as well as the 4-star weapons Favonius Greatsword (claymore), Dragon’s Bane (polearm), Sacrificial Fragments (catalyst), and The Stringless (bow), all of them will receive a huge drop-rate boost.
Among these weapons, Favonius Greatsword (claymore), Dragon’s Bane (polearm), Sacrificial Fragments (catalyst), and The Stringless (bow) are also permanently available in the Standard Wish – Wanderlust Invocation without any boosted drop rates.
Final thoughts
The double rerun banners of Nahida and Nilou are exciting. Starting off, Nilou had very few support characters who would let her true potential be unlocked. She has always been an amazing character who was limited by a lack of proper support. After the release of Nahida, all that changed. Nilou is her best self when she is paired up with Nahida. The fact that both of them are rerunning at the same time is both a blessing and a curse. One good thing is that both of them are extremely free-to-play friendly.
If players do not own either of them and wondering who would be better: it is Nahida. She can be used in any Dendro team, including Nilou’s best team. She is one of the most valuable characters in Genshin Impact. Nilou has a rather restrictive team-building potential, but she is incredibly powerful in teams that work. Players need to be aware of it before deciding to pull her.
If players do not own either of them and want both of them, Nilou would be a better choice for now since nobody knows when her next rerun might be. Nahida is an Archon and she will most likely have a rerun pretty soon, there will always be the opportunity to pick her up. If players already own Nahida and do not care about Nilou, it is definitely worth going for Nahida’s early constellations up to C2.
If players own both and thinking about going for constellations: Nahida’s early constellations have more pull value since she is the best Dendro support and they increase the DMG of any Dendro team. Nilou’s constellations have a rather low pull value, so it is not worth going for them.
Some of the 4*s on this banner are actually pretty good. Kuki Shinobu is an amazing Hyperbloom trigger that synergizes with Nahida really well. While Layla, being Cryo, does not synergize with Dendro, she can be a great support for just about any team that requires a shield and Zhongli is unavailable. This is because her shield has a 12s duration and a 12s cooldown. It is possible to have almost 100% uptime on this shield. It is also the second strongest shield (at maximum investment) after Zhongli’s. Dori is one of the worst characters in Genshin Impact, nothing much to say about her.
As for the weapon banner, while A Thousand Floating Dreams is an amazing weapon for Nahida, it does very little for any other character. It is not as universal of a weapon as the Staff of Homa, so the choice to pull this weapon is for whales mostly. The same can be said for the Key of Khaj-Nisut, it is only good on Nilou, and barely anyone else can use it. The 4* weapons are actually rather amazing. Dragon’s Bane, Sacrificial Fragments, and The Stringless are all amazing EM weapons. Dragon’s Bane is great for Hyperbloom Raiden, Sacrificial Fragments is best for Nahida and Sucrose, and The Stringless is amazing for Fischl and Venti.
