Genshin Impact version 3.8 will soon go live once the server maintenance is over. The server maintenance begins at 06:00 (UTC+8) on 5th July 2023 and is estimated to take 5 hours. Players will be able to pull on the character and weapon banners once 3.8 goes live. The banners will be available til 25th July 2023 at 17:59 server time. Genshin Impact version 3.8 Phase 1 banners will not feature any new characters or weapons.
Genshin Impact version 3.8 Phase I first character banner:Born of Ocean Swell
This banner features the second rerun of “Dance of the Simmering Wave” Eula (cryo/claymore) since her release back in version 1.5. She has had over a year between her first and second reruns. Players very rarely get the chance to pull for her, so those who have been waiting for her banner must be excited.
Eula will be accompanied by the 4-star characters “Coordinates of Clear Frost” Mika (cryo/polearm), “Wolf Boy” Razor (electro/claymore), and “Protector From Afar” Thoma (pyro/polearm) who will also receive a huge drop-rate boost.
Among these 4* characters, “Coordinates of Clear Frost” Mika (cryo/polearm), “Wolf Boy” Razor (electro/claymore), and “Protector From Afar” Thoma (pyro/polearm) are also permanently available in the Standard Wish – Wanderlust Invocation without any boosted drop rates.
Genshin Impact version 3.8 Phase I second character banner: Sparkling Steps
This banner features the third rerun of “Sparkling Steps” Klee (pyro/catalyst) since her release back in version 1.0. She has been a very popular character since day one of Genshin Impact. Just like Eula, Klee’s rerun has also been long-expected.
Klee will be accompanied by the 4-star characters “Coordinates of Clear Frost” Mika (cryo/polearm), “Wolf Boy” Razor (electro/claymore), and “Protector From Afar” Thoma (pyro/polearm) who will also receive a huge drop-rate boost.

Genshin Impact version 3.8 Phase I Weapon banner: Epitome Invocation
This banner features the event-exclusive 5* weapon Song of Broken Pines (claymore). This is the signature best-in-slot weapon for Eula. This banner also features the 5* weapon Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds (catalyst). This weapon is also permanently available in the Standard Wish – Wanderlust Invocation.
This banner also features the event-exclusive 4-star weapons The Alley Flash (sword) and Alley Hunter (bow), as well as the 4-star weapons Rainslasher (claymore), Favonius Lance (polearm), and Eye of Perception (catalyst) will receive a huge drop-rate boost. Among these, Rainslasher (claymore), Favonius Lance (polearm), and Eye of Perception (catalyst) are also permanently available in the Standard Wish – Wanderlust Invocation without any boosted drop rates.
Final Thoughts
None of the 5* characters are on the top of the META anymore, but that shouldn’t stop fans from pulling their first copy (or constellations) of Klee or Eula. As for the 4* characters, Razor can be used in an Aggravate or Hyperbloom team. Thoma is the best character for a Burgeon team. Mika was designed to be a support for Physical characters like Eula, but he still loses out to more universal buffers like Bennett. The decision to pull for the 4* characters is completely up to the players.
As for the weapons, Song of Broken Pines is the only good weapon for Eula. Any Eula main should try to pull for it. The other weapon, Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds does not have such a high pull value because it is obtainable from the Standard Wish – Wanderlust Invocation. Among the 4* weapons, Favonius Lance is good for any character that needs a lot of ER. For example, it can be given to Xiangling if Raiden Shogun is using The Catch.
