Hasbro unveils brand-new Minecraft themed Nerf blasters

Good looks but lacking practicality

Hasbro has recently launched its brand-new line of Minecraft-themed Nerf blasters. The Pillager’s Crossbow, Stormlander, and three MicroShots are the blasters that are available for purchase, and they do look like they’re straight out of Minecraft.

Pillager’s Crossbow

The first and probably the most appealing of the three is the Pillager’s Crossbow, which resembles the crossbow that is in the game. It’s a spring-powered blaster that holds 3 regular Elite darts and shoots them off one by one every time the blaster is primed, and the trigger is pulled (the blaster most probably utilizes a smart AR system).

While the Crossbow does have strings, those are purely cosmetic, and it uses a priming handle instead and the biggest issue with it would be the price tag and the lack of paint to make it look better.

Stormlander

This one is not exactly from Minecraft but from Minecraft Dungeons instead. The Stormlander also has the same mechanics as the crossbow but looks pretty different while still having the 3 dart capacity.

MicroShots

The MicroShots (also considered reshells of the Jolt, a very popular single-shot blaster) are based on mobs from the game and actually look pretty nice! They’ve been inspired by the Ender Dragon, the Ghast, and the Guardian.

The Minecraft nerf blasters are not meant for everyone

Anyone who’s into foam flinging would probably steer away from these as they aren’t really practical aside from the MicroShots which function as backups. The price is pretty steep for what the blasters have to offer while the Crossbow and the Stormlander have pretty low dart capacities, and they only come with 3 elite darts for each blaster (Hasbro has always been quite stingy with how many darts they give out). These are only really meant for cosplay or collectible items for Minecraft fans.

Some previous collaborations

So far, these are the only blasters in the line, and they’re only available through Walmart, but they should probably be available on other online stores soon. In the past, Hasbro has collaborated with Fortnite and Roblox too to create pretty wonky-looking foam blasters. However, just like the Fortnite line, it’s possible that more blasters eventually come out with better features.
