Hearthstone Battlegrounds will receive exciting new features with the arrival of Season 3 on January 17th, 2023. Season 3 will feature Professor Putricide who will be taking over, replacing Battlegrounds Quests with all his new creations. Professor Putricide has been revived for Season 3 and his new Hero Power—Build an Undead—lets you craft up to 3 custom Undead throughout the game.
Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 3 Key Highlights
New Undead and Dual-Type Minions
The new Season brings 32 new minions, including 16 new undead minions and 11 new dual-type minions, to the Battlegrounds. Dual-type minions have synergies with two separate minion kinds at the same time, whereas the Undead focus on death effects like Reborn and Deathrattle!
Players will begin earning rewards on the new Season 3 Battlegrounds Track
Season 3 of Battlegrounds will launch on January 17 after Season 2 concludes. Players will then transition to the new Season 3 Battlegrounds Track and start collecting prizes there. Rewards from the Season 2 Battlegrounds Track that has already been earned but has not yet been claimed will be done so automatically.
Season 3 of Battlegrounds has seen the spillover of the Battle for Silvermoon! This Battlegrounds Track features brand-new cosmetics with spooky Scourge and fiery Silvermoon themes. Pick up the Season Pass to instantly unlock the new Silvermoon Legendary Strike’s whole Track, receive up to 15 more Hero Skins throughout the Season, and receive +2 Hero choices at the start of each game.
Battlegrounds Preview Event
Professor Putricide’s exclusive “Build a Team” Battlegrounds Season 3 preview event will be held on January 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. PT! Professor Putricide is attempting to create the best Battlegrounds team possible, taking teams from NA, LATAM, and EMEA to the competition. You ask how? By combining them!
Teams Nerubian, Eternal, and Abomination will play against one another. Each side will exchange one player for a player from the other team following each round. Teams will continue to compete and mix until the event’s time is out, at which point the victorious team will be dubbed “Plague Perfected”! Each member of the winning squad will receive 15 Season Passes, for them to distribute to their communities. Here are the starting teams.
