miHoYo, the developers of Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact has enjoyed a good time last year as Genshin became the fastest game on both the Google Play and Apple App Store to cross the 1 billion dollar mark. The Chinese company has also globally launched another game this year, titled Tears of Themis. It has now been revealed that Honkai: Star Rail will be a new game under development, owing to the filing of a new trademark by miHoYo in Japan.
Honkai Impact 3rd is set to enter its 5th year next month on the 14th of October, 2021. During the anniversary announcement, miHoYo has revealed the DLC Post Honkai Odyssey 2. The live stream confirmed the expansions would bring open-world mechanics to the game and also the involvement of Bronya Zaychik in an adult avatar. Bronya was last seen in a leaked cutscene of Honkai Star Rails. Furthermore, it is revealed that the game will undergo registrations for the first closed beta on October 8th!
Honkai Star: Rail name has been trademarked by miHoYo
The name Honkai Star Rail was trademarked by miHoYo on 23rd August 2021. It was made public on 21st September as revealed by trademark bots on Chizai Watch. This closely follows the steps taken by miHoYo during the launch of Genshin Impact, as it has been registered in Japan as “ 原神 impact ”.
On September 22nd of 2021, the game client was also available publicly by mistake, before being taken down. Even though the client was available on the App Store for a brief amount of time, many people have been able to get access to the game files. Meanwhile, an account named Honkai: Star Rail can also be found on BiliBili, which further shows evidence of the game being in development.
Several leaks from the new game
Data miners have soon released screenshots and footage from the game, which revealed that unlike Honkai Impact 3rd and Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail seems to be a turn-based game. But, the game environment is open-world.
Several characters were also leaked, and among them are few there are a few making a return from Honkai Impact 3rd. There are also leaks that suggest another game in the Honkai series is under development known as Honkai: Galaxy as Weibo accounts of both the games have been spotted.
The gameplay is still in the early phase of development and is subject to change. It is best to wait for an official reveals from miHoYo to get all the information regarding the game.
