Who is Jingliu in Honkai: Star Rail
Jingliu, formerly the sword master of Xianzhou Luofu and the mentor of Jing Yuan, fell into madness under the influence of Mara. In the year 7380 of the Star Calendar, she escaped from Starskiff Haven and effortlessly immobilized all the Cloud Knights dispatched to apprehend her.
Eventually, Jing Yuan confronted and defeated her in a decisive battle. A popular anime short about this important event was also released and players have been loving the visuals and overall quality of the featured Anime short.
Jingliu’s Abilities
With Jingliu being a 5-star Ice-type element character, she takes the Path of Destruction and features unique gameplay from her overall kit. She possesses a strong kit and possible synergies with other Destruction characters as she can reduce the overall health of the party members, most Destruction-type characters play around their HP percentage and gain different types of buffs and other gameplay features.
Jingliu can also stack a lot of DMG increase for herself from her strong talents and can transform into a stronger form called Transcendence. She gains a stack of New Moon and Moonlight where she gains a massive ATK buff and an increase in her overall damaging abilities.
Basic Attack
Jingliu deals Ice damage on a single enemy, dealing a percentage of her ATK as damage. Her Basic attack is a simple single-target attack that deals damage based on her ATK.
Skill
Jingliu deals Ice damage to enemies based on her ATK stats and simultaneously acquires two stacks of New Moon. By using Jingliu’s skill she is able to deal decent damage to enemies and gain stacks in order to transform into the Transcendence state where she becomes a much stronger version of her skill
Ultimate
Jingliu inflicts Ice damage on a single enemy and nearby enemies. If she is in the Transcendence state, she gains two stacks of Moonlight after the attack. Otherwise, she gains two stacks of New Moon. Her Ultimate is an AoE type attack and will provide her with a decent amount of New Moon stacks which will greatly help her with her talent.
Talent
Upon accumulating four stacks of New Moon, Jingliu enters the state of Transcendence and earns an additional turn. During Transcendence, New Moon is transformed into Moonlight, and Jingliu gains access to a new skill called Moon of Glacial River. By utilizing this skill, Jingliu can consume a portion of her allies’ HP and convert it into ATK. Once the stacks of Moonlight decrease to 0, Jingliu exits the Transcendence state.
Despite requiring numerous amounts of stacks in order to activate the Transcendence state, it is important to note that Jingliu greatly increases her damage when she is transformed in this much stronger state, she gains access to a stronger skill which enables her to deal more damage alongside taking the HP of her allies and converts it into her ATK.
Technique
At the start of a battle, Jingliu immediately obtains two stacks of New Moon. Jingliu’s technique will provide her with a decent amount of New Moon stacks and can greatly influence her in battle where she is a step ahead in getting herself into her Transcendence state.
Final Thoughts
Jingliu is a unique character to play and features a new playstyle where she reduces the allies’ HP to increase her own ATK. This may be a very great synergy for other characters that also want to reduce their own HP to increase their overall abilities namely, Arlan and other Destruction characters in the future. It is important to also know that the Destruction Path and Blessing in Simulated Universe will greatly benefit teams with Jingliu in their team as she can easily acquire the HP requirements for most Path resonance and blessings.
