In this Honkai: Star Rail Screwllum Abilities and Gameplay leaks, players will know more about the overall skill set of Screwllum.
Who is Screwllum in Honkai Star Rail
Players get to meet Screwllum for the first time during the Starhunt Game event quest. He appears to be a mysterious person but under the Alliance of the Herta Space Station. Mechanical Aristocrat Screwllum is simply known as Screwllum. He is member #76 of the Genius Society.
He lives on a specific planet and is the ruler of Planet Screwllum. Herta regards Screwllum as having the most exceptional hacking skills in the universe, while Silver Wolf is the first person to reach a similar level of expertise.
In the Starhunt Game event quest, we witness a scene where he demonstrates a distinctive ability where he brought butterflies and assumes a mysterious appearance with a robot-like face or mask.
Screwllum’s Abilities
Screwllum, an Imaginary-type element following the Erudition Path, is the first AoE-focused unit with the Imaginary element. He is expected to be a strong choice for an Imaginary-type character and could potentially create great synergy with other characters of the same Element. Erudition characters are good weakness breakers and they are also really good at taking care of enemies of large amounts.
Additionally, Screwllum can reduce the Imaginary Resistance of enemies which makes enemies prone to the special debuff of the Imaginary element where enemies get slowed and imprisoned. He also offers a large amount of AoE attacks on his kits and also features a unique type of follow-up attack.
Basic Attack
Screwllum inflicts Imaginary damage equal to a % of his ATK to a single enemy. There is nothing special to his basic attack which is similar to all characters in the game at the moment.
Skill
Screwllum’s attack causes Imaginary damage to a specific enemy, dealing damage equal to a % of his ATK. Additionally, adjacent targets also suffer Imaginary damage equivalent to a % of Screwllum’s ATK. He is the first Imaginary-type character to have a fixed AoE type of attack and offers good scaling with ATK.
Ultimate
There is a base chance of a % for Screwllum to decrease the enemy target’s Imaginary RES by a % for a duration of certain turns. He also inflicts Imaginary damage to the entire enemy party, dealing damage equal to a % of his ATK.
His Ultimate has the potential to be a very strong ability when paired with other characters with Imaginary-type elements. Reducing the Element Resistance of enemies and within an AoE is a massive debuff to enemies.
Talent
When Screwllum attacks enemies that are affected by debuffs, he applies a Diffusion Mark to the enemy. If Screwllum uses the skill on a target with a Diffusion Mark, it triggers a follow-up attack, consuming the mark. The follow-up attack inflicts Imaginary damage equal to a % of Screwllum’s ATK to the target and also deals Imaginary damage equal to a % of Screwllum’s ATK to adjacent targets.
Each time Screwllum damages an adjacent target, if that target has a Diffusion Mark, it consumes the mark and inflicts diffuse damage. However, it is not possible to apply a Diffusion Mark to enemies with a follow-up attack.
The talent is also an important part of Screwllum’s kit, this enables him to consistently apply marks and activate his Follow-up attack. This also features a variety of AoE attacks which is definitely useful for most content in the game.
Technique
Upon entering the battle, Screwllum immediately launches an attack on all enemy targets, dealing Imaginary damage equal to a % of his ATK. Additionally, he applies a stack of Diffusion Marks to each enemy. The Diffusion mark easily activates his follow-up attacks when using his skill on his turn, this is definitely useful as he can easily deal a bunch of AoE damage to targets at the start of the turn.
Final Thoughts
Screwllum is definitely a strong AoE damage dealer and a formidable choice for his Imaginary-type element. This is one of the rarest elements in the game and not many characters have been released to have damage coverage for this element type. Screwllum is a great addition to this in the future as he offers exceptional AoE damage.
Screwllum’s release date is still unclear and no official information about his release has been announced by HoYoverse. However, having a glimpse of his abilities is a good overview for players to know what his strengths are and how he works in a team.
