Huuuge recruits Rod Cousens to join its Executive Management Team as Co-CEO

Huuuge, today announced changes to its management structure.

Rod Cousens, a veteran of the games industry and a member of the Board of Directors at Huuuge, has been named Co-CEO of the company, which he will share with Anton Gauffin. Cousens will assist Gauffin in executing the company’s strategy and balancing efforts between new prospects and the company’s existing, highly valuable product and service portfolio.

The company’s Board of Directors has been increased to six members as a result of these changes, with Tom Jacobsson, a digital business entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience, being named the new independent non-executive member of the Board of Directors. Jacobsson has also been appointed to the Audit Committee and the Remuneration and Nominations Committee of the Board of Directors, replacing Rod Cousens. Both modifications will take effect on April 7, 2022.

Rod Cousens is a senior advisor at The Raine Group, one of Huuuge’s stockholders, and a veteran of the games industry. He was the Chairman and CEO of Jagex Games Studio before joining The Raine Group. Rod was the CEO of Codemasters before joining Jagex. Rod was the COO and eventually the CEO of worldwide publisher Acclaim Entertainment before joining Codemasters.

Having worked with Anton and the company for the past few years, I have gained a good understanding of the business, the organization, consumers and investors. Rod got his start in the gaming industry in 1981, when he founded Quicksilva, a games publisher. He went on to become the UK Managing Director and then President International of Activision, which is now one of the world’s major video game publishers. Rod attended Barton Peveril College and Brunel University in London, as well as Stanford Business School, where he completed executive business management studies.

Tom Jacobsson joins the Board of Directors new independent non-executive member

Tom Jacobsson is a seasoned digital entrepreneur with more than 25 years of expertise in guiding products and businesses to success through winning cultures, design thinking, lean startup philosophy, and agile development. He previously worked for Nokia as a 3G System Program Manager, where he built global infrastructure products and mobile technology.

He ran Nokia’s mobile chipset strategy and planning from single-source to multi-source, acted as a turnaround CEO for small and midsize digital companies, and worked with companies on public listings. Tom is currently the CEO of Dunning, Kruger and Associates, a full-stack digital product company he co-founded in 2017 and just sold to the North Alliance.
