The Lineage game series is quite a classic role-playing title and Lineage W is the latest addition to their lineup, all set to release globally on mobile. Today, the official website went live. This isn’t the first Lineage title to hit mobile and the series is extremely popular with millions of players globally, with a majority belonging to South Korea, where it has a big fanbase. The previous titles have been published on mobile by NCSoft (South Korea’s biggest game development firm), NetEase, and Tencent.
Focus on influencing the global mobile gaming market
Unlike the previous games, however, the prime focus isn’t just South Korean gamers, but their global player base. Usually, South Korea gets the games first after which they are modified for global release.
The game revolves around the concepts of “Eternity”, “The Blood Pledge”, “From Imagination to Reality”, “New Battlegrounds” and “Honor and Sacrifice”, as evidenced by the brand new website.
Talking about the website again, it reveals more about this game’s lore and is available in English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. There’s also a YouTube video by their official channel that teases the game.
What can players expect with the Lineage W mobile global release
So far, the trailers and teasers have made it look pretty intriguing and it might be a game that fans of the MMORPG genre would enjoy, especially considering NCSoft’s popularity and good record over the past 2 decades. The game entered development and was announced pretty recently, so there’s not a lot of information regarding release and other elements. However, those interested in getting more information can tune into the upcoming presentation on their website on August 19 at 10 AM KST, where the game is set to be showcased.
