- Rainbow Six Mobile generated $2.31M gross revenue and 6.75M downloads in its debut month.
- The Division Resurgence in return earned $2.8M gross revenue with 3.42M downloads.
- Rainbow Six Mobile led in player reach, while The Division Resurgence showed stronger monetization.
I recently covered The Division Resurgence and its first-month revenue performance, and it got me thinking. Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Mobile had already debuted a couple of months earlier, so I thought, why not put these two games side-by-side and see how their numbers are?
So again, my comparison is for the debut month now, and I will talk about how these numbers are. Looking at their first 30 days, the contrast is pretty clear, especially when it comes to a few metrics.
Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence: A revenue tale of two launches
Rainbow Six Mobile generated around $1.53 million in net revenue, with the gross numbers of $2.31 million, and 6.75 million downloads, showing strong player interest right out of the gate. However, its monetization lagged behind, reflected in a lower Revenue per Download (RpD) of around $0.20.
On the other hand, The Division Resurgence pulled in about $1.72 million in net revenue (closer to $2.8 million gross) with 3.42 million downloads since its launch. While installs were notably lower, the game showed better monetization ($0.50 RpD), indicating a more spending-focused player base early on.
Zooming out a bit, Rainbow Six Mobile has had more time in the market, and its lifetime revenue has crossed $3 million on mobile in net revenue and approximately 4.63 million in user spending, and is inching closer to 13 million downloads. Compared to the first month, however, a slight spike in RpD is noticed, with $0.24.

The Audience behind the numbers
Both games lean heavily on Western markets, but there are some differences in distribution. For The Division Resurgence, the United States accounts for roughly 45% of revenue, making it the clear driving force. Other regions like Japan contribute upto 10%, with the rest having the remaining shares.
Rainbow Six Mobile also sees the U.S. as its top market at around 33%, but its revenue is more evenly distributed worldwide. Markets like Brazil, which ranks second in downloads after the U.S., along with several other regions, play a much larger role in its overall player base, even if their revenue contribution is lower.
This suggests that The Division Resurgence is more dependent on the U.S. market than its sister title, with nearly half of its earnings coming from that single region. The strong popularity of both games in countries like the U.S. and Brazil may also be linked to the regional beta before launch being held in these two countries.
At their peak: Where revenue and download numbers maxed out
I want to touch on the download numbers, too, which are quite interesting. Rainbow Six Mobile had an audience-loaded launch, with downloads peaking almost immediately at around 1.2 to 1.3 million, on Day 2, while revenue hit its highest point of roughly $90K+ by Day 3. After that, both metrics dropped off as expected, especially downloads, which fell sharply within the first week.
The Division Resurgence, on the other hand, followed a more gradual curve. Downloads built up over the first few days and peaked at around 400K+ on April 5, with revenue also reaching its highest point of roughly $100K during the same period.
When we compare the revenue peaks, the maximum business was a slight difference, since both were in the 90+ range. However, the download peak of R6M was pretty high, roughly 3 times more than what the third-person shooter title could achieve.
Built Differently, Performing Differently
Beyond the numbers, the two games take very different design approaches. Rainbow Six Mobile stays close to its roots as a 5v5 tactical FPS, built around tight maps, operator abilities, destructible environments, and strong team coordination. Matches are shorter, skill-driven, and highly competitive, with a lot of potential as we discussed in our review.

The Division Resurgence, meanwhile, is an ambitious mobile take on their blockbuster third-person RPG shooter experience. It features a shared open world, story-focused missions, PvE-heavy progression, and PvPvE elements like the Dark Zone. Its monetization naturally connects more with gear upgrades, builds, and long-term progression systems.
That difference also shows in the data, as Rainbow Six Mobile appears to attract a larger player base, as shown by download numbers that were twice as high as The Division Resurgence, which seems more effective at converting those engaged players into spenders.
Final Thoughts
Well, this isn’t exactly a direct comparison; if I’m being honest, you can call this an effort of my curiosity. But even then, it does give a pretty good idea of how differently these two launches have played out, despite coming from the same publisher.
In the end, it really comes down to what each game is trying to do. Rainbow Six Mobile clearly went big on reach, pulling in a much larger player base right from the start, while The Division Resurgence feels more focused on depth, getting fewer players but converting them better into spenders.

What will matter more going forward is how well each game holds onto its players and keeps them coming back. The early numbers give us a good idea of direction, but there’s still a long way to go before we can say which one truly comes out on top.
We have a good direction with R6M, as the recent roadmap is pretty exciting, with seasonal content on offer with Season 1 of The Division Mobile also bringing some healthy content to the fray. So it will be harsh to judge either’s future just by the performances reflected in a couple of months. Both carry high potential; we will have to see how they turn out.
