A massive announcement!

Story Highlights
  • Master League is officially returning to the eFootball franchise.
  • The announcement was made during eFootball CONNECT: Spotlight Interview.
  • The first in-game reveals are planned for April 2026, although release date is unconfirmed.

After years of waiting, hoping, and constant questions from the community, Master League is officially making its return to the eFootball franchise. KONAMI confirmed the news during the eFootball CONNECT: Spotlight Interview that went live on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.

Master League was a major game mode that left a huge void with the eFootball switch

During the Spotlight Interview, KONAMI shared that Master League will be showcased through an in-game event starting around April 2026, marking the first proper reveal of how the mode will work. Although back then, Master League was confirmed to arrive on mobile, there were no hints here.

From what was discussed, Master League will focus on player condition, form, stamina, and long-term management, with events like players hitting peak form, becoming fatigued, or even suffering injuries, depending on how you manage them.

I don’t know how this will be implemented, but it surely looks like there’s a big difference compared to how ML was back in the PES days. For long-time PES fans, this announcement surely is something to rejoice in.

Master League has always been the heart of the offline experience and PES console overall, letting you step into the role of a manager, build a club from scratch, and shape your own football story over multiple seasons. When eFootball launched, and the mode disappeared, it left a massive gap that never really got filled.

So, is this putting an end to a four-year-long absence of one of the series’ most loved modes? Absolutely, yes. But it is still a wait. April isn’t too far away, just a couple of months, but the bigger question remains: once the showcase is over, when will the mode actually arrive? There’s that wait.
