Mecharashi, a sci-fi RPG begins open beta testing for Mobile and PC

Time for an futuristic action adventure!

Sci-fi RPGs are on the rise, and joining that list now is Mecharashi, also called Ganglan, which has begun open beta testing for Android, iOS, and PC platforms.

Mecharashi takes you on a journey full of futuristic possibilities

Mecharashi is an exciting sci-fi strategy game set shortly developed by BlackJack Studio, known for titles such as Dream Simulator and Heaven and Earth Tribulation: The Return of the Dark City. Here players control a mercenary team called Cheetah Logistics and partner with the mysterious “Tan” girl organization to uncover a global conspiracy.

The game was reportedly cancelled back in 2022 but then made a return. The core gameplay combines war chess mechanics with mecha themes. You act as commanders, making strategic decisions during battles. You can also customize the mechas before battles, be it their torso, hands, legs, and weapons, which helps provide a unique blend of battlefield decision-making and strategic choices.

From the gameplay snippets available, the visuals are top-notch, and the story looks to be in-depth explained with those cutscenes. We have a top-down approach in camera, where sometimes it’ll switch to a closer view during special attacks or such. We have multiple attack styles available whenever the player chooses to do so, adding an element of strategy to the mix.

Players can now participate in the Mecharashi open beta testing across multiple platforms

From December 7, 2023, the Mecharashi open beta tests have begun for Android and iOS platforms alongside PC, where players can access the Android .apk file via this link and install it once the download is complete. For iOS players, the same can be accessed via the App Store client. You can head over to the official website to download the PC version and learn more info about the game.

Before installing, ensure your Android device meets the minimum requirements, including a Snapdragon 480/Snapdragon 690/Kirin 980 CPU, Android 7.0 or higher, 2GB of storage, and at least 10GB of available space. For iOS devices, make sure it’s an iPhone 8 Plus or newer with iOS 12.0.0 or later.

However, signing in is only possible via the Zilong account, which is registered using either mobile phone number, WeChat, QQ, or Weibo, which are all restricted to China. There looks to be no option for the English language, even with the developer mentioning to be an open beta. So, we’ll have to wait for global release details.
