Nazara Technologies acquires Fusebox Games, a UK-based gaming studio for $27.2 million

Indian gaming and sports media platform Nazara Technologies has announced the acquisition of Fusebox Games, a UK-based gaming studio, for INR 228 crores ($27.2 million) in an all-cash deal.

Fusebox’s successful IP-driven games are set to boost Nazara’s global gaming presence

Fusebox is known for its popular interactive story games, including the flagship title Love Island: The Game, and has established itself as a leader in IP-based mobile games. The studio focuses on creating narrative-driven content and has built strong relationships with global TV brands. The company has a team of 30 employees, mostly based in the United Kingdom.

Meanwhile, Nazara has a strong foothold in the mobile gaming and Esports scene. While being the parent of NODWIN Gaming, Nazara has had a strong lineup of games including WCC3. They recently also took over the publishing duties of the upcoming 5v5 multiplayer FAU-G: Domination, the next in the FAU-G franchise.

Nazara’s Founder and CEO, Nitish Mittersain, expressed optimism about the acquisition, stating: “We see a large opportunity in building an IP-based global gaming business that benefits from our core base in India. We are happy to join forces with the talented team at Fusebox as we continue to build Nazara into a global gaming company of meaningful scale”.

From the words of the founder himself, integration of Fusebox’s successful IP-driven games is expected to strengthen Nazara’s position in the global gaming market. Fusebox Games will boost the core gaming segment of Nazara with advanced user acquisition tactics, data-driven insights, live operations, and initiatives like their in-house AI playbook.
