Playstack Leeds: Playstack and Laser Dog Games join hands to open a new micro-studio

An exciting partnership between Playstack and Laser Dog Games has resulted in the opening of Playstack Leeds, a brand-new micro-studio in Leeds. The new micro-studio rekindles a former partner to build a new independent production wing that will produce a library of endearing and enjoyable new games, bringing award-winning Laser Dog Games developers Simon Renshaw and Rob Allison into the fold at top publisher Playstack.

Playstack, a top publisher of video games with headquarters in London, prides itself on cramming as much pleasure as possible into each of its games. Playstack collaborates with both internal and external studios to create a stack of games that players want to play. Ava Airbourne and 2 Grind 2 Furious were released as a result of a prior productive partnership with Laser Dog in 2017, and they have amassed an astounding 13.5 million downloads so far.

Playstack Leeds will focus on making great entertaining titles

Since Simon and Rob launched the firm in 2012, millions of people have played the renowned Laser Dog Games‘ products. When they first met, they connected right away. They decided to start a studio with Simon as the artist and game designer and Rob as the programmer and musician after rapidly realizing how well their skills complemented one another.

They decided to dedicate themselves to Laser Dog full-time after spending a year creating games in their spare time while juggling day jobs. Their big break came with their initial game, Alone.

We’re so happy to welcome Rob and Simon to Playstack as full-time members of our team, and delighted to launch our first micro-studio Playstack Leeds. One of our core goals is to enable developers to focus on their passion for creating great games.

Simon and Rob have already brought their boundless energy to Playstack showing a passion for creating, crafting, and shaping a new wave of games for our line-up. They bring so much joy to players and we cannot wait to work with them more and more

The brilliant duo, known for their endearing aesthetic, has received many honors, including the iTunes Editors Choice Worldwide (PKTBLL), the iTunes Indie Game Showcase (Alone), and the Editors’ Choice on the Apple App store (Ava Airborne).

Simon and Rob, founders of Laser Dog, said: “Before we met Playstack, we were finding it difficult to focus on doing what we truly love, developing unique and quirky fun games. There are only two of us at Laser Dog and we found the day-to-day of running a studio a bit overwhelming, but with Playstack’s help, now we have the freedom to spend our time creating the games we want to make.”

Simon and Rob will concentrate on creating fantastically enjoyable games with stunning visuals while working under the aegis of Playstack Leeds, which will offer Playstack’s expertise in a variety of tools and services like monetization, UA services, QA, and data analysis. Together, they will create intriguing and original IPs.
