Pokémon Go introduces a new feature to join Raids directly from your Friend List without an invitation

A friendly feature!

Story Highlights
  • Players can now join Raids directly from their Friends List using a Remote Raid Pass.
  • Trainers can participate in up to five Remote Raids per day through this feature in Pokemon Go.
  • You can opt out of sharing your Raid activity with friends via the settings menu.

Pokémon Go from Niantic has introduced several features to make the game easy to play while providing a fun experience for its players. Adding to that list, Pokémon Go introduces a new feature where you can join Raids directly from your Friend List without an invitation. Let us find more details about the same and understand how to join as well.

Players can only participate in up to five Remote Raids per day via this feature

The new update makes teaming up with friends for battles more seamless. With a Remote Raid Pass, you can participate in a Raid if one of your Great Friends or higher is waiting in the Raid Lobby. However, Shadow Raids and Elite Raids are excluded from this feature.

While this addition makes Raid participation easy, it comes with some restrictions. You can only participate in five Remote Raids per day, though this limit may temporarily increase during events. Note that once you join a Raid via this method, you won’t be able to send additional invites to others.

If you prefer not to want this feature, you can opt out of sharing your Raid activity with friends through the settings menu. Before you jump into the steps to join these Raids, it is important to know how to add friends in the game and also have as many friends as possible to utilize this feature. Make sure you have the required Raid Pass and note the lobby limits as only up to 10 Trainers can join remotely.

Battling remotely in Raids works similarly to in-person Raids. Remote Trainers can choose their Pokémon and share group codes to invite others. The mechanics remain the same, but remote Trainers’ Pokémon have slightly lower attack power compared to in-person participants. Bonuses like Best Friend perks, research progress, and team rewards still apply for remote Raids.
