As the months pass by, Pokemon GO has brought players, a variety of events and activities in the month of May 2022. Over the next few weeks, the Pokemon mobile game will be holding new legendary Pokemon raids, May Community Day, and a few other in-game events.
Pokemon GO May 2022 Community Day
This May, players will be getting another Community Day of 2022 in Pokemon GO where trainers will see Alolan Geodude, the Rock Pokémon, and its appearance in the wild. The Community Day will also have many bonuses and research tasks and, many more.

- A Mega Moment: Mega Evolution is getting a mega update! Pokémon that can Mega Evolve in Pokémon GO are going to appear more frequently in the wild until Sunday, May 1, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time! A Mega Kangaskhan Raid Day will also be held on Sunday, May 1, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. local time.
- Pokémon Air Adventures: Set your sights on the sky! The first Legendary Pokémon that can Mega Evolve in Pokémon GO-Mega Latias and Mega Latios will be featured from Tuesday, May 3, 2022, to Sunday, May 8, 2022!
- Water Festival: Look out for a surge of Water-type Pokémon from Thursday, May 12, 2022, to Friday, May 20, 2022.
- Alola to Alola: From Wednesday, May 25, 2022, to Tuesday, May 31, 2022, celebrate and look back at all the adventures Trainers have had this year with Pokémon found in Alola!

The following Pokémon will be appearing in raids throughout May 2022.
Five-Star Raids
The guardian deity of Poni Island, the Legendary Pokémon Tapu Fini, will make its Pokémon GO debut in five-star raids this May. At the end of the month, the guardian deities of the four islands of the Alola region will gather together to make sure to catch them all while you have the chance!
Please note that raid rotations all start and end at 10:00 a.m. local time on the dates listed unless otherwise noted.
Mega Raids
Mega Blastoise, Mega Kangaskhan, Mega Latias, Mega Latios, and Mega Altaria will appear in Mega Raids! Please note that raid rotations all start and end at 10:00 a.m. local time on the dates listed.
Raid Hours
Every Wednesday in May, a Raid Hour event will occur from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time. The following Pokémon will be featured.
May Research Breakthrough encounters
Sunday, May 1, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7). If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!
Pokémon Spotlight Hours
In the month of May, Pokémon Spotlight Hour will take place every Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time, and each event will spotlight a different Pokémon and a special bonus!
Hats featured during the Season of Heritage will be in the shop
Avatar items rewarded from the Season of Heritage Timed Research will be available for purchase from the in-game store for Trainers who were not able to obtain them previously.

Buddy widget will make its debut
A new buddy widget will be available in early May! You will have the option to add a widget to your device’s home screen so you can keep track of your Buddy Pokémon
