Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League 2023: Format, Teams, Prize pool, and more

Hunt of the first Asian champion

The Pokémon Company announced the first-ever invitational tournament for Pokémon UNITE called the Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League 2023. The invitational tournament will crown the first-ever Asian champions for the 5v5 game Pokémon UNITE. The tournament will take place from January to March 2023. Top invited teams from the East Asia League, Southeast Asia League, and India League will participate in this tournament for the title of the Asian champions.

Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League 2023: Tournament Format

Regular Season

The regular season will be held in two stages. In the first stage, the teams will compete in a round-robin format where each team will fight against each other in their respective leagues. The second stage of the regular season features a single elimination tournament, from where the top two teams will qualify for the Final Round.

In the regular season, teams will compete within their own region. The regions for the Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League are East Asia, South East Asia, and India. The organizers have already revealed the slot distribution of all the leagues. The teams of each league will be revealed in the future. All matches of the regular season will be held in a Best of 3 (Bo3) format.

Final Round

The final round will also feature two separate stages: the Group Stage and the Tournament Stage. The top two teams from each league will fight in the final round which will be held in an offline location in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

The Group Stage will feature round-robin league matches with each team playing against each other. The top 4 teams from the group stage will then move to the Tournament Stage. The Tournament Stage will be held as a single elimination tournament. All the matches of the Tournament Stage will be held in a Best of 5 (Bo5) format.
