For their ground-breaking in-game concert series in PUBG Mobile x Blackpink collaboration, “The VIRTUAL,” Blackpink won the MTV Video Music Awards for Best Metaverse Performance. The amazing performance, which received 15.7 million views from viewers around the globe, triumphed against a shortlist of six of the biggest celebrities and video games in the world, including Ariana Grande in Fortnite, Charli XCX in Roblox, and Justin Bieber in Wave. The MTV VMAs, which honor the year’s top music videos, will include a new category in 2022 called Best Metaverse Performance.
Blackpink returned to PUBG Mobile with a special track and music video
The world was enthralled by the unique audio-visual event that took place over two weekends in July. The introduction of a brand-new special tune, Ready For Love, as well as virtual performances of BLACKPINK’s biggest hits, were also featured at the in-game event. As a result of the collaboration, a music video was made, which has since had over 151 million views.
In Ready For Love, members of Blackpink are transported into recognizable settings from the PUBG Mobile universe, including the island of Erangel, the Sanhok Rainforest, the Miramar Desert, the Vikendi Ice Fields, and a sea of flowers in Livik.
In order to fully immerse viewers in the PUBG Mobile world, the movie is embellished with popular game components including airdrops, helmets, planes, and bullets. The full “Ready For Love” music video is now accessible to fans on the official YouTube pages of BLACKPINK and PUBG MOBILE.
The BLACKPINK X PUBG Mobile special track Ready For Love music video was released as part of the partnership and has now been watched over 146 million times since its launch. The video marks the first time BLACKPINK has appeared in avatar form for a music video and the first time PUBG Mobile has collaborated with artists on a music video featuring virtual images.
