Return to Monkey Island, one of the popular titles in the Monkey Island franchise, is arriving on mobile this July 27 on both Android and iOS platforms. It is developed by Terrible Toybox, the name behind the development of contemporary adventure game masterpieces like Thimbleweed Park with Devolver Digital handling the publishing duties.

Return to Monkey Island, the sixth installment in the Monkey Island game series, made its debut on various platforms, initially for macOS, Nintendo Switch, and Windows on September 19, 2022. The Linux version followed on October 26, 2022, and finally, on November 8, 2022, it became available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Similar to its predecessors, Return to Monkey Island is set in fictional islands located in the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy. We will once again get to see Guybrush Threepwood, the main protagonist of the Monkey Island series in action in this title. From the gameplay trailer, he is found to recount an adventure, revealing how he ultimately unravels the secret of Monkey Island.
All the platforms have already witnessed their respective launches, leaving only the mobile version pending, which is fulfilled now. The upcoming mobile release raises questions about how the gameplay will be adapted. While it is possible that it will be a direct port to mobile, details regarding the specific version have yet to be revealed.
